After a 5 day streak of ludicrous amounts of power outages, I think today we are finally back to normal.
That explains the "amazing" quality of sleep last night. Of course, a bit of rain and its cooler aura did help too. But these past five days or so were absolutely hellish, it literally gave me flashbacks, going back by more than a decade, when such power outages were a part of our daily routines.
Back then, whether it be day or night, at least 8 to 10 hours of load-shedding out of 24 hours was considered "normal". Yet, back then we weren't so dependent on technology, we were a bit more lively.
Smartphones didn't exist, computers used to cost way too much for the average person and their budgets. So, thanks to the lack of "easy technology", back then people took that time to gather up in one place and interact. The kids would play under the moonlight, elders gathered up in different groups, chatting on and gossiping.
It's surprising, you know, what I've mentioned above, it all wasn't too long ago, it's been just over a decade, yet it feels as if we're now living in a whole different world; a world that lacks the human touch and fervor.
In present times, we've become so dependent on technology and our "online lifestyles", many of us have forgotten about the life we used to live just 10 to 15 years ago. And if we ever have to go back to those days, live life as we once used to, will we even survive a week that way? I doubt it, and sadly, I myself would struggle.
As things become awfully digital, and way less physical, I realize how fast we humans and the world around us keeps developing.
Sometimes it's actually scary, all this rapid growth, all the new tech, new possibilities.
Starting with the latest, and greatest? The power of AI, how its usage has taken over the realm of content creation, even some job sectors too, AI is the new hype. We now have self-driving cars, a handful of cars being designed to run on compressed hydrogen gas, there's crypto, there's the US Dollar and the US who are struggling to maintain power and control, who would've thought?
If anyone had talked about such a scenario 10 years ago, absolutely no one would believe it. We're now in a pivotal stage I'd say, and we really got our hands full.
And right now...
Uncertainty, is the only certainty...
Around 2030 to a decade later, the world we know, what we have and "need" now, most of it may just cease to exist.
My bet is on the tech, on growth, I'm all for development, but as I tread ahead, that little kid that still exists inside of me, the one with those memories under the moonlight, that kid and his way of living life, slowly keeps fading away.
That kid is now lost, in this fast paced world...
I won't be ending this one with a quote, but I do have a song. I think it fits well...
