If there's one thing I hate when I'm shopping, it's falling in love with a product and then suddenly and without warning it disappears from all the shops, it already happened to me with a hair care product and now with one of my skincare routine, the worst thing is that it was with one of the most important steps for me: the cleanser. A couple of months ago, when the one I was using was about to run out, I started looking in the supermarket for a replacement and to my surprise I couldn't find it in any of the shops that sold it.

I continued my search until I had to buy a new one because the old one had run out. I opted for a cleanser from the same brand as the one I was using (Simple) and from the same line as my moisturising gel (Protect 'N' Glow), as I was quite satisfied with the results I have obtained with them. Another thing that made me choose this specific product is that it says on the packaging that it contains "Natural Clay", which usually helps to control oil and that's something I usually look for in almost all my skincare products.
Like all Simple products, it contains no perfumes, dyes or harsh chemicals, is not tested on animals and is environmentally friendly. Notable ingredients include vitamin C and bamboo powder, both of which are excellent antioxidants, as well as being good for oily-prone combination skin.
As wonderful as the cleanser sounded on paper, the first time I used it, I was not pleasantly surprised. What I thought would be a gel cleanser ended up being a paste, but not only that, it contains tiny particles (the darned bamboo powder) that perform a light exfoliation (scrub) on the skin. While none of those things are totally bad, they are not what I expected, especially the exfoliating particles, as I am not a fan of physical exfoliation, plus I knew that would make me unable to use it on a daily basis, however, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.
Due to its pasty consistency it doesn't spread well on the face, and it doesn't lather either, so I have to apply a much larger amount than I did with the previous cleanser, so goodbye to saving money, which was one of the things I liked most about the other one. It took me a couple of days to work out the exact amount I needed to cleanse my whole face and neck, which ended up being twice as much as with the other one, but that was the least of my worries, but the fact that I didn't know if I was going to be able to use it as my daily cleanser.
A couple of weeks after starting to apply it, I noticed that the oil production on my face was increasing and that I was starting to feel the characteristic burning of my dermatitis, which was probably triggered by the constant exfoliation I was doing with this soap. The solution was clear, I had to get another cleanser before the situation got out of control, so that's exactly what I did. But I didn't want to just throw this product away, so I decided to alternate it with the other one and use it only two days a week.

With this new routine I've been doing great, in less than a week I stopped feeling the burning sensation of dermatitis and my skin started to be free of that excess oiliness that bothers me so much. I've even noticed it has a much more even tone and texture than before, I guess it's because of the vitamin C, as that's one of its benefits. In fact, a few weeks ago I had a bad acne breakout due to a hair product that caused me to have a negative reaction and thanks to my skincare I can say that I had absolutely none of those temporary spots that are left after one of those breakouts, so in that aspect I'm quite satisfied with this cleanser.
I can't say it was the best buy as it's not a cleanser that I would use on a daily basis, however, I've managed to make it work quite well, and I'm happy with the results I'm getting with it. Definitely, the Simple brand is still my favourite for good skin care at a pretty affordable price, as this product cost only 8 dollars, so if you have the opportunity to try this brand don't hesitate to do so.
Nuevo limpiador, nueva rutina
Si hay algo que detesto al momento de hacer mis compras es enamorarme de un producto y que de repente y sin aviso desaparezca de todas las tiendas, ya me pasó con un producto de cuidado para el cabello y ahora con uno de mi rutina de skincare, lo peor es que fue con uno de los pasos más importantes para mí: el limpiador. Hace un par de meses, cuando estaba por terminarse el que estaba usando, comencé a buscar en el supermercado su reemplazo y cuál sería mi sorpresa al no encontrarlo en ninguna de las tiendas en las que lo vendían.
Continué mi búsqueda hasta que forzosamente tuve que comprar uno nuevo porque el anterior ya se había terminado. Opté por un limpiador de la misma marca del que estaba utilizando (Simple) y de la misma línea de mi gel hidratante (Protect 'N' Glow), ya que estaba bastante satisfecha con los resultados que he obtenido con ellos. Otra de las cosas que me hizo escoger este producto en específico es que en el envase colocan que contiene "Arcilla natural", la cual usualmente ayuda a controlar la grasa y eso es algo que yo normalmente busco en casi todos mis productos de skincare.
Como todos los productos de la marca Simple, no contiene perfumes, ni colorantes o químicos fuertes, además de no ser probado en animales y ser amigables con el medio ambiente. Dentro de sus ingredientes destacables se encuentran la vitamina C y el polvo de bambú, ambos son excelentes antioxidantes, además de ser buenos para la piel mixta con tendencia a grasa.
A pesar de lo maravilloso que sonaba el limpiador el papel, la primera vez que lo usé me llevé una sorpresa nada grata. Lo que yo pensé que sería un gel limpiador terminó siendo una pasta, pero no solo eso, contiene unas partículas pequeñitas (el dichoso polvo de bambú) que realizar una ligera exfoliación a la piel (scrub). Si bien ninguna de esas cosas es totalmente mala, no son lo que yo esperaba, sobre todo lo de las partículas exfoliantes, ya que yo no soy partidaria de la exfoliación física, además de que sabía eso haría que no lo pudiera emplear a diario, sin embargo, decidí darle el beneficio de la duda.
Debido a su consistencia pastosa no se esparce bien en el rostro y tampoco genera espuma, por lo que debo aplicar una cantidad mucho mayor de la que aplicaba con el limpiador anterior, así que adiós al ahorro, que era una de las cosas que más me gustaba del otro. Tardé un par de días en calcular la cantidad exacta que necesitaba para limpiar toda mi cara y cuello, la cual terminó siendo el doble que con el otro, pero eso era lo que menos me preocupaba, si no el hecho de que no sabía si iba a poder usarlo como mi limpiador de diario.
Un par de semanas después de iniciar a aplicarlo me di cuenta de que la producción de grasa de mi cara estaba aumentando y que estaba comenzando a sentir el ardor característico de mi dermatitis, lo cual seguramente fue detonado por la constante exfoliación que estaba realizando con este jabón. La solución estaba clara, debía conseguir otro limpiador antes de que la situación se saliera de control, así que eso fue exactamente lo que hice. Pero no quería simplemente desechar este producto, así que decidí alternarlo con el otro y utilizarlo solamente dos días a la semana.

Con esta nueva rutina me ha ido excelente, en menos de una semana dejé de sentir la sensación de ardor de la dermatitis y mi piel comenzó a estar libre de ese exceso de grasa que tanto me molesta. Incluso la he notado con un tono y una textura mucho más uniforme que antes, supongo que es por la vitamina C, ya que ese es uno de sus beneficios. De hecho, hace unas semanas tuve un brote fuerte de acné debido a un producto para el cabello que me ocasionó una reacción negativa y gracias a mi skincare puedo decir que no me quedó absolutamente ninguna de esas manchas temporales que quedan después de uno de esos brotes, así que en ese aspecto estoy bastante satisfecha con este limpiador.
No puedo decir que fue la mejor compra, ya que no es un limpiador que me sirva para usar a diario, sin embargo, he logrado hacerlo funcionar bastante bien y estoy contenta con los resultados que estoy obteniendo con él. Definitivamente, la marca Simple sigue siendo mi favorita para un buen cuidado de la piel a un precio bastante accesible, puesto que este producto costó solamente 8 dólares, así que si tienen la oportunidad de probar esta marca no duden en hacerlo.
