Learning More About Community Manager [Esp/Eng]

Today we will talk about Community Manager and the privileges we have thanks to the internet, because there are always spaces to keep educating ourselves, but the key factor in everything is: discipline.

At the end of November, I enrolled in a marathon about Community Management taught by Marianela Sandovares, an expert in the field who has offered her services on social media. This is an area I really enjoy because it's what I've been doing for the past few years, but I didn't give much formality to the process or anything I was doing.

A Community Manager is very different from a content creator; basically, they are responsible for managing social media. This can include a wide variety of tasks, but what I can highlight is that it wasn't a professional vacancy before social media exploded. Therefore, it remains a new job that is still being perfected.

Marianela's 3-day marathon aimed to make us aware that this is a serious job, not a "hobby". And it clicked because that's how I saw it, and that's why I think I didn't have enough clients or results. Since I want to learn it in a more professional way, I continue searching for resources to help me achieve that.

"Not only do you have to be good, but you also have to seem good," said Sandovares, and it's a phrase I will keep in mind because during her explanations, she emphasized the importance of having organization, a portfolio, templates to systematize our work, and give it the seriousness it deserves. If you go and tell someone "I can manage your social media," the income they offer you may not be market-appropriate because they don’t know the whole field. However, with a formal presentation of what you do, people can’t take you lightly. (It's happened to me 🤐)

Whether you like the topic or not, it's important to know what the "high-demand jobs" are, and this is one of them because there are so many people who start businesses but don't know how to manage their social media. The impact of their brand doesn’t gain visibility online. And the more people see it as a "hobby," the less respected the profession will remain.

I love learning about topics like this because I always think, "First, I learn enough, and when I’m ready, I launch my project." Right now, in web3, there is demand in this area. If you're someone who does things well and professionally, work will not be lacking, and that’s what it's about: continuing to grow.

Hoy hablaremos sobre Community Manager, y de los privilegios que tenemos gracias al internet porque siempre hay espacios para seguir educándonos pero el factor diferencial de todo es: la disciplina.

A finales de noviembre me inscribí en un maratón sobre Community Manager dictado por Marianela Sandovares quien es una experta en el tema y ha ofrecido sus servicios en redes sociales. Esta es un área que a mí me gusta muchísimo porque es lo que me he dedicado a hacer durante los últimos años, pero no le di mucha formalidad al proceso y a nada de lo que estaba haciendo.

Un Community Manager es muy diferente a un creador de contenido, básicamente se encarga de gestionar redes sociales. Eso puede incluir una gran variedad de características pero entre lo que puedo destacar es que no era una vacante profesional antes de que se dispararan las redes sociales. Por lo tanto, sigue siendo un nuevo puesto de trabajo que apenas se está perfeccionando.

El maratón de 3 días de Marianela buscaba hacernos conscientes de que este es un trabajo serio y no un "hobbie". Y dio en el click porque así lo veía yo y por esa razón pienso que no tenía suficientes clientes ni resultados. Como quiero aprenderlo de forma más profesional sigo buscando los recursos que me ayuden a lograrlo.

"No solo hay que ser buenos, también hay que parecerlo" dijo Sandovares y es una frase que seguiré llevando porque durante sus explicaciones hizo hincapié en la importancia de tener organización, portafolio, plantillas que nos permitan sistematizar nuestro trabajo y darle la seriedad que se merece. Si tu vas y le dices a aguien "yo te puedo llevar las redes" posiblemente el ingreso que te ofrezca no sea acorde al mercado porque desconoce todo ese rubro. Sin embargo, con una presentación formal de lo que haces, la gente no te puede tomar el pelo. (Me ha pasado 🤐)

Sea que te guste el tema o no, es importante saber cuáles son los "trabajos de alta demanda", este es uno de ellos porque hay muchísimas personas que emprenden pero no saben llevar sus redes. El impacto de su marca no alcanza visibilidad en internet. Y mientras más personas lo vean como un "hobbie" seguirá siendo una profesión no respetada.

Me encanta aprender este tipo de temas porque siempre pienso "primero aprendo lo suficiente y cuando esté lista lanzo mi proyecto". Ahora mismo en web3 hay demandas de esta área, si eres una persona que hace las cosas bien y de forma profesional, el trabajo no faltará y de eso se trata: de seguir creciendo.
