Héroes Naranjas - Una niñez tiernamente protegida [ESP-ENG]

Estos días he estado un poco ausente, pero no tan ausente 😅, ya que sigo haciendo mi trabajo en pro de la comunidad en Hive, aunque mi blog se haya visto algo silencioso, ante la ausencia de publicaciones.

Este fin de semana que pasó estuve dos días continuos en una capacitación por parte de la Organización World Visión en Ecuador. Ya les he compartido que he trabajado con esta Organización antes, cómo voluntaria en el trabajo humanitario, basado en Movilidad Humana.

Ellos se pusieron en contacto conmigo y esta vez me invitaron a una capacitación para ser un Héroe Naranja, propuesta que es parte de uno de sus proyectos, llamados "Esperanza sin Fronteras", donde la meta es llegar a los más vulnerables y llevarles un poco de esa misma esperanza.

These days I have been a bit absent, but not so absent 😅, as I continue to do my work for the community in Hive, although my blog has been somewhat silent, due to the absence of publications.

This past weekend I spent two continuous days in a training by the World Vision Organisation in Ecuador. I have already shared with you that I have worked with this organisation before, as a volunteer in humanitarian work, based on Human Mobility.

They contacted me and this time they invited me to a training to become an Orange Hero, a proposal that is part of one of their projects, called "Hope without Borders", where the goal is to reach the most vulnerable and bring them a bit of that same hope.

Está capacitación se basó en Una niñez tiernamente protegida y justamente se tocaron temas que abarcan al niño, niña y adolescente. Tema que particularmente me gusta mucho, ya que desde que era una niña ví a mi abuela materna y a mis padres ser voluntarios humanitarios ayudando niños, sirviendo en pueblos y lugares donde había mucha necesidad y vulnerabilidad.

También recuerdo que mis padres a mis hermanos menores y a mi, nos llevaban a visitar una casa hogar, pude entrar hasta sus instalaciones y ser amiga de algunos de esos niños, además de compartir con ellos ropas, juguetes y dulces. Mi mamá nos decía que dos de esos niños eran nuestros niños adoptados y que cada vez que quisiéramos algo, debíamos incluir también algo para ellos.

Además de esos recuerdos y de haber seguido ayudando a la niñez y a jóvenes durante mi crecimiento, una vez les comenté que fui asesora legal de movilidad humana aquí en Ecuador, en mi ciudad por aproximadamente 3 años. Así que al haber familias en esta condición, siempre van a existir niños y bueno, también soy mamá de tres, así que el tema de protección infantil sin duda es algo que promuevo.

This training was based on A Childhood Tenderly Protected, and it dealt with topics that include children and adolescents. This is a subject that I particularly like, because since I was a child I have seen my maternal grandmother and my parents being humanitarian volunteers helping children, serving in villages and places where there was a lot of need and vulnerability.

I also remember that my parents, my younger siblings and I, would take us to visit a children's home, and I was able to go inside and be friends with some of the children, as well as share clothes, toys and sweets with them. My mother used to tell us that two of those children were our adopted children and that every time we wanted something, we should include something for them as well.

In addition to those memories and having continued to help children and young people growing up, I once told them that I was a legal advisor for human mobility here in Ecuador, in my city for about 3 years. So with families in this condition, there are always going to be children and well, I am also a mother of three, so the issue of child protection is certainly something I promote.

El primer día para mí, fue el mejor de todos en cuanto a conocimiento y al mismo tiempo refrescar cosas que ya sabía o manejaba, este es un tema que realmente me apasiona, no solo por lo antes contado y por ser mamá, si no también en el ámbito legal y psicológico, porque soy Defensora de los Derechos Humanos. Así que sin duda estaba en algo que realmente aprovechaba al máximo. Fueron aproximadamente entre 15 y 18 horas de capacitación sumando ambos días.

Comenzaron hablando sobre la Reflexión y Acción para la respuesta humanitaria. Para lo cual pues debe existir una participación activa y todo el mundo el mundo tiene el corazón y vocación para trabajar con voluntario humanitario. También debe existir el respeto como base principal, para no hacer ningún tipo de distinción y además de esto tener experiencia.

Un voluntario humanitario, debe aportar soluciones, no solo para ese momento, si no pensando en futuro, es decir, no podemos ver a una familia en situación de calle y pagar solo una noche en hotel y darles un día de comer, debemos aportar soluciones que les lleve a ellos como familia surgir y poder tener la capacidad de solventar sus necesidades básicas.

The first day for me was the best of all in terms of knowledge and at the same time refreshing things that I already knew or knew, this is a subject that I am really passionate about, not only because of the above and for being a mother, but also in the legal and psychological field, because I am a Human Rights Defender. So without a doubt I was in something that I really made the most of. There were approximately 15 to 18 hours of training on both days.

They started by talking about Reflection and Action for Humanitarian Response. For which there must be active participation and everyone has the heart and vocation to work as a humanitarian volunteer. There must also be respect as the main basis, not to make any kind of distinction and in addition to this to have experience.

A humanitarian volunteer must provide solutions, not only for the moment, but also for the future, that is to say, we cannot see a family in a street situation and only pay for a night in a hotel and give them a day's food, we must provide solutions that will help them as a family to emerge and to be able to meet their basic needs.

Durante la ponencia de las representantes de la Organización, estuve acompañada de una agenda y lapicero que nos dieron, además del buen café que nos ofreció el lugar donde fue la Capacitación, El Hotel Ceibo Dorado, que queda en la ciudad donde vivo, quienes nos ofrecieron un excelente trato y servicio.

Se tocaron otros temas importantes, como la resiliencia, los factores de riesgo que existen, los tipos de vulnerabilidades y en esta parte hubo bastante participación por parte de los presentes, donde a través de un ejemplo expliqué que ser vulnerable no significa que alguien esté viviendo eso necesariamente, si no que cabe en la posibilidad de que lo viva, de que le pase, la vulnerabilidad se basa en que ese niño, niña o adolescentes, están corriendo el riesgo e incluso personas mayores.

Sin embargo, podemos marcar la diferencia, existen medidas de protección que podemos emplear, que a mi consideración debería de enseñarse en a los educadores, padres, representantes e incluso a los representantes de cada comunidad que forma parte de la ciudad o parroquia, para que así se apliquen más estos factores y exista menos vulnerabilidad.

During the presentation of the representatives of the Organisation, I was accompanied by an agenda and a pencil that they gave us, as well as the good coffee offered by the place where the training was held, the Ceibo Dorado Hotel, which is in the city where I live, who offered us excellent treatment and service.

Other important topics were discussed, such as resilience, the risk factors that exist, the types of vulnerabilities and in this part there was a lot of participation from those present, where through an example I explained that being vulnerable does not mean that someone is necessarily living it, but that it is possible that they live it, that it happens to them, vulnerability is based on the fact that the child or adolescent is running the risk and even older people.

However, we can make a difference, there are protective measures that we can use, which I think should be taught to educators, parents, representatives and even representatives of each community that is part of the city or parish, so that more of these factors are applied and there is less vulnerability.

Nos acompañó el señor Rodolfo, Organizador Nacional de World Visión. Quien dió su aporte en un tema súper importante, como lo es los Primeros Auxilios Psicológicos. Este tema lo conocía, pero desconocía el nombre que le daban, así que fue un nuevo aprendizaje. Pero el hecho es que no podemos revictimizar, que no podemos ser tolerantes ante el abuso, la violencia, que debemos brindar seguridad a la persona afectada, mostrar empatía, sin omitir juicios de valor y brindando una guía de a dónde ir o qué hacer para que reciba la ayuda necesaria.

También es importante decirles que habrán situaciones en las que lamentable no podremos actuar, en el caso de niños niñas y adolescentes debemos actuar y denunciar el abuso y la violencia, sin ninguna tolerancia, sea quien sea que lo haga debe pagar por ello y si callamos seremos cómplices del delito, pero cuando se trata de adultos, es la víctima quien debe poner la respectiva denuncia y es allí donde entra más la parte de auxilio psicológico, ya que muchas víctimas, no aceptan que lo son y por ende no denuncian al agresor.

Cómo dije no solo se habló de la niñez, se habló sobre la violencia de género, se tocaron entre las mesas temas importantes y de debates dónde estudiábamos ejemplos y expusimos lo que haríamos en cada uno de los casos. Debo decir que me siento orgullosa de cada uno de los participantes en especial de los de mi mesa.

We were accompanied by Mr. Rodolfo, National Organiser of World Vision. He gave his contribution on a very important topic, such as Psychological First Aid. I was familiar with this subject, but I didn't know the name given to it, so it was a new learning experience. But the fact is that we cannot re-victimise, that we cannot be tolerant in the face of abuse, violence, that we must offer security to the person affected, show empathy, without omitting value judgements and offering guidance on where to go or what to do so that they receive the necessary help.

It is also important to tell them that there will be situations in which unfortunately we will not be able to act, in the case of children and adolescents we must act and report the abuse and violence, without any tolerance, whoever does it must pay for it and if we keep silent we will be accomplices of the crime, but when it comes to adults, it is the victim who must make the respective complaint and that is where the part of psychological help comes in, since many victims do not accept that they are victims and therefore do not report the aggressor.

As I said, we did not only talk about children, we talked about gender violence, we discussed important topics and debates where we studied examples and explained what we would do in each of the cases. I must say that I am proud of each and every one of the participants, especially those at my table.

El segundo día también fue de gran valor, nos explicaron cómo deben estar constituidos los espacios seguros, ya que la finalidad de este proyecto que existan espacios a nivel de territorio, es decir bien sean en iglesias o comunidades, que brinden espacios seguros a los niños y personas en situaciones vulnerables que requieran la ayuda.

En este plantearon las características que debe tener cada uno de estos espacios seguros, como aporte pude decir que estos deben estar comprendidos por edades, debido al desarrollo psicomotriz y social de los niños.

También dije que aún cuando demos acompañamiento a los niños y enseñemos valores, debemos ir a la raíz, que son los padres, si ensayamos a los Padres y si buscamos que existan padres sanos, sin duda tendremos una niñez que crezca de manera saludable no solo físicamente, si no también de manera emocional y espiritual.

The second day was also of great value, they explained to us how safe spaces should be constituted, since the aim of this project is that there should be spaces at the territorial level, that is, in churches or communities, which provide safe spaces for children and people in vulnerable situations who require help.

In this they raised the characteristics that each of these safe spaces should have, and as a contribution I could say that these should be age-appropriate, due to the psychomotor and social development of the children.

I also said that even when we accompany the children and teach values, we must go to the root, which is the parents, if we test the parents and if we seek to have healthy parents, we will undoubtedly have a childhood that grows up in a healthy way, not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually.

Cómo les dije la atención fue muy buena, nos dieron desayuno, almuerzo y merienda los dos días. El primer día fue demasiada comida. El desayuno fue hermoso, no pude tomarle foto ya que el hambre 😂 hizo que se me olvidara. El almuerzo fue caldo de leche, si de leche, maíz y queso, una delicia, pero el plato principal no me gustó, ya que aquí tienen la costumbre de servir el arroz y la pasta junta y eso no va conmigo jajaja. Nutricionalmente está mal, es carbohidrato con carbohidrato.

El segundo día, el desayuno fue demasiado bueno, unos bolones de plátano con queso y chicharrón, además el almuerzo si fue bueno, pescado con ensalada, arroz y cada comida con su respectivo jugo, ¿La foto? No la tomé, tenía hambre jajaja. En las meriendas sirvieron: el primer día sandwich de pollo con ensalada y el segundo día pastelitos de queso.

As I said, the service was very good, we had breakfast, lunch and snacks on both days. The first day was too much food. The breakfast was beautiful, I couldn't take a picture of it because I was too hungry 😂 I forgot about it. Lunch was milk broth, yes milk, corn and cheese, a delight, but I didn't like the main course, as here they have the habit of serving rice and pasta together and that doesn't suit me hahaha. Nutritionally it's bad, it's carbohydrate with carbohydrate.

On the second day, breakfast was too good, banana buns with cheese and pork rinds, and lunch was good, fish with salad, rice and each meal with its respective juice, the photo? I didn't take it, I was hungry hahaha. For snacks they served: the first day chicken sandwich with salad and the second day cheesecakes.

Nos quedamos esperando el postre, pero en lugar de eso y para finalizar, nos hablaron de la Ruta de Denuncia que existe en nuestra ciudad y que hacer en el caso de que las personas que pertenecen a nuestro proyecto o sean protegidos por esta organizando acudan a nosotros como voluntarios, a pedir ayuda. Cabe destacar que la mejor Ruta de Denuncia que existe en Ecuador es la de mi ciudad Portoviejo y ha Sido así por algunos años.

También al finalizar nos hicieron firmar un compromiso, donde aceptamos todas las medidas expuestas, todos los factores que existen y todas las formas de ayuda que hay para ser unos verdaderos Héroes Naranjas y así proteger a la niñez y a las personas adultas que se encuentren en estado de vulnerabilidad.

Recuerda que tú también puedes ser un Héroe Naranja y llevar Esperanzas sin Fronteras, donde quiera que estés. Ante el abuso y violencia cero tolerancia, denuncia.

We were waiting for dessert, but instead of that and to finish, we were told about the Ruta de Denuncia that exists in our city and what to do in the case that people who belong to our project or are protected by this organisation come to us as volunteers to ask for help. It is important to point out that the best "Complaint Route" that exists in Ecuador is the one in my city Portoviejo and it has been like that for some years.

Also at the end we were made to sign a commitment, where we accepted all the measures exposed, all the factors that exist and all the forms of help that exist to be true Orange Heroes and thus protect children and adults who are in a state of vulnerability.

Remember that you too can be an Orange Hero and bring Hope Without Borders wherever you are. Report abuse and violence, zero tolerance, denounce it.
