El día de hoy te voy a platicar mi experiencia en el proceso de visualización, planeación y ejecución de mi plan para convertirme en Piloto de Paramotor.
¿Qué es el Paramotor?
El Paramotor es tanto el nombre del equipo como el nombre que se le dió a este deporte aéreo que es relativamente nuevo. El deporte surge en los 80s y hoy en día también se le conoce como “Powered Paragliding” o “PPG”.
El Paramotor es considerado en la FAR 103 (Federal Aviation Regulation) como una aeronave ultra ligera. Por lo anterior, a pesar de estar regulado por la FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) al ser un deporte recreativo, las regulaciones no son demasiado severas y nos permiten volar con mucha más libertad que en alguna operación de aviación general o de aviación comercial.
En pocas palabras, cuando se decide fusionar el uso del ya popular parapente con un motor y hélice capaces de generar empuje para despegar, ascender o mantener vuelo nivelado, es el momento en que surge el concepto del Paramotor.

Today I am going to tell you about my experience in the process of visualizing, planning, and executing my plan to become a Paramotor Pilot.
What is Paramotoring?
Paramotoring is both the name of the gear and the name given to this relatively new aerial sport. The sport began in the 80s and today it is also known as "Powered Paragliding" or "PPG".
The Paramotor is considered in the FAR 103 (Federal Aviation Regulation) as an ultralight aircraft. Despite being regulated by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) since it is a recreational sport, the regulations are not too severe and allow us to fly with much more freedom than in any general aviation or commercial aviation operation.
Bottom line, when it is decided to merge the use of the already popular paraglider with a motor and propeller capable of generating thrust to take off, ascend and /or maintain level flight, it is at that moment when the concept of the Paramotor arises.

¿Cómo surgió mi sueño de ser piloto?
Ser piloto, desde que tengo memoria ha sido mi mayor pasión en la vida, seguida de cerca por mi segunda pasión: la música.
Al ser paracaidista y aspirante a piloto de ala fija ya hace varios años, fue cuando me surge la idea de aprender a volar Paramotor. Decidí hacerlo porque en mi opinión en este deporte se puede disfrutar de un balance que combina tanto el vuelo del parapente, como la versatilidad de tener control de la potencia del motor en un avión.
Además creo que vale la pena mencionar que una de las mayores ventajas del Paramotor, es que es la aeronave motorizada más portátil, ligera y económica de operar que existe.
How did my dream of being a pilot begin?
Being a pilot, for as long as I can remember, has been my greatest passion in life, followed closely by my second one: music.
Being a skydiver and aspiring to become a fixed-wing pilot for several years, I had the idea of learning to fly Paramotors. I decided to do it because in my opinion with PPG you can enjoy a good balance between paragliding and flying a fixed-wing aircraft. The versatility of having control of the thrust makes it very similar to flying an airplane.
I also think it is worth mentioning that one of the biggest advantages of the Paramotor is that it is the most portable, light, and economical aircraft to operate.
¿Cómo visualicé y cómo hice realidad mi sueño?
El primer paso fue poner mi sueño de convertirme en piloto de Paramotor junto con otros sueños en un “Tablero de Visión” o “Vision Board” en inglés y a su vez ponerlo en un lugar muy visible. En este caso fue la pared de mi habitación junto a la cama. Esto me sirvió para tener presentes mis sueños al despertar y antes de dormir.
El siguiente paso fue tomar el curso de Parapente P1 en 2015. Lo cursé en una escuela certificada por la APPI (Association of Paragliding Pilots and Instructors). La escuela se llama Flumen y está basada en Valle de Bravo, en el Estado de México.
How did I visualize and how did I make my dream come true?
The first step was to put my dream of becoming a Paramotor pilot along with other dreams on a “Vision Board''. Then, I placed my board in a very visible place, in this case, it was mounted to the wall of my room next to my bed. This helped me keep my dreams in mind every day when I woke up and before I went to sleep.
The next step was to take my Paragliding course. So I did it in 2015 with an APPI (Association of Paragliding Pilots and Instructors) certified school. The school’s name is Flumen and is based in Valle de Bravo in the State of Mexico.
Una vez terminado el curso, seguí volando y practicando manejo del parapente en tierra “Kiting” para mantener la práctica mientras ahorraba y mientras planeaba el viaje para mi curso de Paramotor.
After finishing the course, I continued paragliding and practicing ground control with my wings or “Kiting”. That way I was able to remain proficient while I saved enough money and while I was planning the trip for my Paramotor course.

Finalmente después de siete años, logré alinear mis planes para tomar el mejor curso de Paramotor en la industria. Fue un curso intensivo de dos semanas. El curso fue impartido por Aviator PPG en Lake Wales Florida. En mi opinión Aviator PPG es la mejor opción de formación para pilotos de Paramotor. Considero que son los mejores porque su entrenamiento está muy bien estructurado, se conduce con los más altos estándares de seguridad y al mismo tiempo se disfruta ya que es muy divertido.
Finally, after seven years, I managed to line up my plans to take the best Paramotor course in the industry. It was an intensive two-week training that was taught by very experienced instructors at Aviator PPG in Lake Wales Florida. In my opinion Aviator’s PPG training is the best option for becoming a safe and knowledgeable pilot. I consider them to be the best because their training is very well structured, it is conducted with the highest safety standards and at the same time, it is enjoyable as it is a lot of fun.
