Anoche @manujune experimentó otro bajón como resultado de la primera sesión de quimio de esta segunda fase. Después de una tarde relativamente relajada, los medicamentos hicieron efecto.
Fue difícil levantarla hoy. Se rehusaba a volver al banco de sangre (¿Cómo culparla?).
Sin embargo, quedarse en la cama no era una opción y Mamá hizo lo que las mamás mejor hacen...
Last night was rough again. After a smooth afternoon, the medication kicked off and turned @manujune off.
It was hard to get her up today. She refused to come back for more (who can blame her?).
However, that was not an option and Mom did what moms do best...
Llegamos al banco de sangre como a las 7:00 am. Queríamos que empezara su tratamiento lo más temprano posible para que pudiera descansar en casa.
We arrived at the blood bank at about 7. We wanted her to start her treatment as early as possible so we could go home early.
Sin embargo, estaba tan descompensada que tuvieron que hidratarla primero, darle para nauseas y dolor de cabeza y mandar hacer algunos exámenes.
However, she was in such a bad shape that they had to hydrate her first, give her something for the nausea and headache, and run some tests.

Después de eso, y al verla más estable, papá tuvo que volver a casa a comprar comida. El abuelo se unió en el supermercado y volvimos caminando al apartamento.
After that, and seeing her more stable, Dad had to go back temporary home and buy some groceries. Grandpa joined in at the supermarket and we walked back to the apartment.
Era demasiado pesado para llevarlo a pie, así que contratamos a uno de esos mandaderos, que resultó ser un señor mayor; un tipo simpático y amable que se negó a cobrar una tarifa específica por su servicio. Le dimos una buena propina y le agradecimos su gran servicio.
It was too heavy to carry on foot, so we hired one of those errand boys, who happened to be an old man; a fine kind fellow who refused to charge a specific fee for his service. We tipped him well and thanked him for his great service.
Después papá tuvo que ir a buscar agua potable. Es una caminata de cuatro cuadras por la Av. Casanova. En el camino de regreso para la segunda botella de agua de 25 litros, papá se topó con este árbol que acababa de caer.
After that Dad had to go get potable water. It is a four-block walk up Casanova Av. On the way back for the second 25-liter water bottle, Dad ran into this fallen tree.
Considerado lo transitada de esa avenida, fue un milagro que nadie salió lastimado. Ningún vehículo fue dañado.
Considering how busy this avenue is at all hours, it was a miracle no one got hurt. No vehicles were damaged.
Fueron muy eficientes cortando el árbol caído y despejando la avenida.
They were very efficient chopping off the tree and clearing the road.
De regreso al banco de sangre, @manujune se sentía un poco mejor. Aún nos quedaba una larga espera

Y juzgando por lo que queda de este medicamento y la botella que espera, ya sabemos que nos quedaremos hasta las 5pm como ayer.
And judging by how much is left of this and the other bottle waiting, we know we will stay here until five, like yesterday.
