As of yesterday evening my latest proposal achieved enough votes to be funded so a huge thanks to all of you voting for me.
As I promised, I have now reduced the charges for using the service:
Flat fee per transaction has gone from 200 sats to 100 sats (0.088 Hive or 0.030 HBD)
There is a 1.0% fee (down from 1.5%).

I'm using the BTC/Hive rates from CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.
In addition the minimum payment is now as low as 500 sats. I don't advise doing many transactions that low as the fixed fee makes it cost 20% but I am supporting this. Streaming sats for podcasting (an area I need to provide a lot more information on) doesn't have this minimum so micro payments for that make more sense.
Hive Authentication Services
I now provide Hive Authentication Services as both a login and payment method in addition to Hive Keychain. This is a big deal as it means you can use v4v.app on any computer and just snap QR codes with your phone to authenticate and send transactions.
V4V.app is a virtual Lightning Wallet
My goal with this phase of v4v.app is for it to be a virtual Lightning Wallet: you can pay Lightning invoices with it and you can receive Lightning, but under the hood, you're holding Hive or HBD.
I've added the following text into the app which should get translated to Spanish and other languages at some time:
- v4v.app acts like a Bitcoin Lightning Wallet for Hive.
- Using the Hive or Hive Backed Dollars (HBD) you have in your Hive account, you can pay any Lightning invoice or send BTC sats to any Lightning Address.
- The 'Send' tab allows you to pay any Lightning invoice or Lightning Address.
- The 'Receive' tab allows you to create a Lightning invoice or Lightning Address to receive BTC sats.
Explaining
I have a lot of work to do on better explaining what Lightning is, what can be done with it for Hive users and a whole load more. I've got a bunch of videos to make and so on.
I'm going on holiday very soon for a couple of weeks with my family, I'll be maintaining and keeping an eye on everything while I'm gone, and when I get back I'll be back into dev work hard again!
