Why is it that changes cost us so much? I consider myself a pretty flexible person, I wasn't before, but after years of personal work I have been able to accept a little better that things happen and that it is up to us if we suffer or simply let them happen and learn from them.
I have already told you in previous publications that we are in the middle of a move that has become quite hard because of my sister-in-law's attitude of not wanting to change anything in the house, well, today I can say that I understand her a little better, because I have realized that I don't want things to change either.
These days I have been wrapped up in the nostalgia that comes before a big change like moving. During the five years that we have been in this house we have lived many things, this is where Leo spent the first years of his life, here I lived my pregnancy and this was the first house that my husband and I shared, so you can imagine the amount of memories and things lived in this place and the sadness that it gives me to leave it behind.

Rationally, I can understand that the move is necessary and that the change, at the end of the day, is to be better off and for Leo to go to preschool, but I can't help, I feel sad to leave the first home we built as a family. Here we are separated from everything because we live on the outskirts of the city, but that has also allowed us to enjoy great tranquility and privacy, which is something very valuable for my husband and me, this is one of the points that worries me the most, or well, worries us about the move, since there we will be sharing the house with my sister-in-law.
Actually, the house is divided and there is enough space for each of us to have our respective privacy, but even so I feel that it is a point that will change radically and I am afraid that losing that privacy will affect the relationship between my husband and me, but above all I am worried about how it will affect Leo, there is a lot more movement there because not only my sister-in-law lives there, but also my other sister-in-law and her children go practically every day to visit, which makes me a little worried because I don't want them to interfere too much in the education we are giving Leo, because at the end of the day, where we currently live his only influences are me and his dad.
So, I am going to have to start marking very well the limits with my sisters-in-law so they don't want to come and influence the way we are educating Leo, this is not because I think we are doing it perfect, obviously as parents we have many mistakes, however, there are ideas and habits that my sisters-in-law have that I do not agree with and I would not want Leo to acquire them, this really worries me a lot because I think it can be the trigger for several conflicts between them and us.

Another point that makes me really sad is that I will have to leave my cats in this house for a few weeks, since we have to adapt a space in the other one where they will be safe because my sister-in-law has two dogs, at the beginning I will only be able to take one and the other three will have to wait until we build their catio.
This is really bad for me, I have never been separated from them for a long time during the almost 11 years they have been with me, it is a subject I almost don't want to talk about because it makes me feel like crying, I will miss them too much, the good thing is that we will come to visit them very often and my husband will spend some time with them every day to take care of their needs, but in spite of that I will be uneasy until they are with me in the new house.
But undoubtedly, what is costing me the most of this change and why I would not like to leave, is the attitude of my sister-in-law, sometimes I feel that she thinks she is doing us a favor, other times I feel that she sees us as a bunch of invaders, things in which no doubt she is completely wrong because although she is the one who lives there right now, the house also belongs to my husband, so I do not understand why she is taking such a selfish and childish attitude.
It is something that has taken us both by surprise, since she has always supported us when we have needed it, but now with this she is thinking only about herself and does not take into consideration that for us it is also being difficult, that for Leo it is going to be a tremendous change because it is not only the change of house, but also his entrance to preschool, she does not even think about how her own brother will feel when he moves to the room that used to belong to his parents, I am really upset with her attitude because we have had enough consideration for her, but she has not had enough consideration for us.

I know that little by little we will develop a new routine and we will be able to create spaces and moments just for the three of us; and that my cats will soon be with us too, but even so I am a little reluctant to change, I know that this resistance to change is part of human nature, so I am giving myself the opportunity to feel sad to leave our first home behind, there are many memories and adventures that remain in this place, but still I need to take strength because there are many things to do and I can not be sad all day, as you can see I am with a tremendous internal conflict.
Today we are celebrating five years of living together, five years of being here, I think that's why I am so nostalgic about the fact that this is our last week living in this house, I can only hope that we can adapt well to our new routine, especially Leo, because all his life has been in the same place and if for adults the change is hard, I think it is even harder for young children, I hope to have the ability to guide and accompany him so that the transition to the new house is easy for him.

¿Por qué será que los cambios nos cuestan tanto? Yo me considero una persona bastante flexible, antes no lo era, pero después de años de trabajo personal he logrado aceptar un poco mejor que las cosas pasan y que depende de nosotros si sufrimos o simplemente dejamos que pasen y aprendemos de ellas.
Ya les he contado en publicaciones anteriores que estamos en medio de una mudanza que se ha tornado bastante pesada por la actitud de mi cuñada de no querer cambiar nada en la casa, bueno, el día de hoy puedo decir que la entiendo un poco mejor, porque me he dado cuenta de que yo tampoco quiero que cambien las cosas.
Estos días he estado envuelta en la nostalgia que viene antes de un gran cambio como lo es una mudanza. Durante los cinco años que hemos estado en esta casa hemos vivido muchas cosas, aquí es donde Leo pasó los primeros años de su vida, aquí viví mi embarazo y este fue la primera casa que compartimos mi esposo y yo, así que se pueden imaginar la cantidad de recuerdos y cosas vividas en este lugar y de la tristeza que me da dejarlo atrás.

Racionalmente, puedo entender que la mudanza es necesaria y que el cambio, a final de cuentas, es para estar mejor y para que Leo vaya al preescolar, pero no puedo evitar sentir tristeza al dejar el primer hogar que construimos como familia. Aquí estamos separados de todo porque vivimos a las afueras de la ciudad, pero eso también nos ha permitido disfrutar de una gran tranquilidad y privacidad, lo cual es algo muy valioso para mi esposo y para mí, este es uno de los puntos que más me preocupa, o bueno, nos preocupa de la mudanza, ya que allá vamos a compartir casa con mi cuñada.
En realidad la casa está dividida y hay espacio suficiente para que cada uno tenga su respectiva privacidad, pero aun así siento que es un punto que va a cambiar radicalmente y me da miedo que perder esa privacidad vaya a afectar la relación entre mi esposo y yo, pero sobre todo me preocupa cómo va a afectar a Leo, ya que él está acostumbrado a que solamente somos nosotros tres día tras día, allá hay mucho más movimiento porque no solo mi cuñada vive ahí, sino que también mi otra cuñada y sus hijos van prácticamente todos los días de visita, lo cual me causa un poco de inquietud porque no quiero que interfieran demasiado en la educación que le estamos dando a Leo, porque a final de cuentas, donde vivimos actualmente sus únicas influencias somos su papá y yo.
Así que estando allá voy a tener que comenzar a marcar muy bien los límites con mis cuñadas para que no quieran venir a influenciar en la forma en la que estemos educando a Leo, esto no es porque yo piense que lo estamos haciendo perfecto, obviamente como padres tenemos muchos errores, sin embargo, hay ideas y costumbres que tienen mis cuñadas con las que yo no estoy de acuerdo y no quisiera que Leo las adquiriera, esto de verdad me tiene bastante preocupada porque creo que puede ser el detonante de varios conflictos entre ellas y nosotros.

Otro punto que me tiene realmente triste es que voy a tener que dejar mis gatos en esta casa por unas semanas, ya que tenemos que adecuarles un espacio en la otra donde estén seguros porque mi cuñada tiene dos perros, al principio únicamente voy a poder llevarme uno y los otros tres van a tener que esperar a que construyamos su catio.
Esto me tiene verdaderamente mal, nunca me he separado de ellos por mucho tiempo durante los casi 11 años que tienen conmigo, es un tema del que casi no quiero hablar porque me da mucho sentimiento y ganas de llorar, los voy a extrañar demasiado, lo bueno es que vendremos a visitarlos muy seguido y mi esposo pasará diario a estar un rato con ellos y a atender sus necesidades, pero a pesar de eso voy a estar intranquila hasta que estén conmigo en la nueva casa.
Pero sin duda alguna lo que más me está costando de este cambio y por lo que no me gustaría irme, es la actitud de mi cuñada, a veces siento que piensa que nos está haciendo un favor, otras veces siento que nos ve como unos invasores, cosas en las que sin duda está completamente equivocada ya que si bien ella es la que vive ahorita ahí, la casa también le pertenece a mi esposo, entonces no entiendo por qué está tomando una actitud tan egoísta e infantil.
Es algo que a los dos nos ha tomado por sorpresa, ya que ella siempre nos ha apoyado cuando lo hemos necesitado, pero ahora con esto está pensando solo en ella y no toma en consideración que para nosotros también está siendo difícil, que para Leo va a ser un cambio tremendo porque no sólo es el cambio de casa, sino también su entrada al preescolar, no piensa ni en cómo se sentirá su propio hermano al mudarse a la habitación que antes era de sus papás, de verdad que me tiene muy molesta con su actitud porque nosotros sí le hemos tenido bastante consideración, pero ella a nosotros no.

Yo sé que poco a poco vamos a ir desarrollando una nueva rutina y lograremos crear espacios y momentos solo para los tres; y que mis gatos pronto también estarán con nosotros, pero aun así estoy un poco renuente al cambio, yo se que esta resistencia al cambio forma parte de la naturaleza humana, por eso me estoy brindado la oportunidad de sentirme triste por dejar nuestro primer hogar atrás, son muchos recuerdos y aventuras que se quedan en este lugar, pero aun así necesito tomar fuerzas porque hay muchas cosas por hacer y yo no puedo estar tristeando todo el día, como pueden ver ando con un conflicto interno tremendo.
Hoy justamente estamos cumpliendo cinco años de comenzar a vivir juntos, cinco años de estar aquí, creo que por eso me ha dado tanta nostalgia el hecho de que esta es nuestra última semana viviendo en esta casa, solo me queda esperar que podamos adaptarnos bien a nuestra nueva rutina, sobre todo Leo, porque toda su vida ha trascurrido en mismo lugar y si para los adultos el cambio es duro, creo que para los niños pequeños lo es más, espero tener la capacidad de guiarlo y acompañarlo para que la transición a la nueva casa sea sencilla para él.

Sé que esta semana nos trae preparadas muchas emociones y mucho trabajo, ya que es en la que nos despediremos de la casa, solo deseo que la vida que nos espera en la nueva sea tan satisfactoria y tranquila como ha sido hasta ahora en esta.
