The beginning of this week was quite complex and demotivating, I ended up discovering that my internet upload speed is 10% of the contracted speed. Getting to the point that it is impossible to upload a simple photo to Twitter. Considering that I use the internet mainly to create audiovisual and written content, this problem makes it practically impossible for me to work. It is useless to have a good download speed if you don't have a balanced upload speed.
Seeing this situation on Tuesday I decided to complain to the internet provider to see what I could do, they told me that they were going to schedule a visit from a technician, but it is for August 22. It is not a very close date but it is not so far away either, so let's say that I was moderately satisfied. The detail is that that same Tuesday at 11:20 in the morning the modem restarted and did not want to connect anymore, when reviewing the modem parameters it was observed that it was not receiving signal from the company's equipment.
The internet provider company has Twitter support that works relatively well, but this fall as much as I complained they did not give me any answer and to top my misfortune, my cell phone company began to present signal failures and inside my house I had no signal at all. I had to go one block away and use my cell phone in the middle of the street to be able to do any task that required internet. Finally, at 7pm on Wednesday, the internet arrived with an email indicating that there was a problem in the area.

The worst of all this is that after 32 hours without internet connection and without a timely explanation of what was happening during all that time, the upload speed is still not the contracted and my hands are still tied when creating content, in a situation that causes a lot of frustration because I can use the internet, but I can not occupy anything that needs a good upload speed. To say that even Dropbox doesn't want to synchronize, it just keeps on indexing the content and never finishes synchronizing.
My biggest annoyance is that I as a customer have to understand all the problems that the company may suffer that are beyond their control, but their bill does not understand anything. If for example your payment deadline is the first five days of the month and you don't cancel, by the sixth day they are already sending you messages threatening to cut off with additional costs for reconnection. Their system does not take into account bank failures, holidays and weekends. You must pay on time no matter what, but you as a customer do not have the same efficient and strict service as their billing system.
It is important to point out that my internet provider is a private company that also offers cable TV and having internet implies to contract a mandatory package. I pay almost $32 dollars a month for my plan and the truth is that I don't feel that this service is worth that price especially because at least once a month there is a zone failure that leaves you without internet for several hours. Now with the upload speed problem I don't know how long it will take to give me a real solution and to think that I put this internet plan to be able to do streaming but now I can't even upload a picture to Twitter.

El inicio de esta semana fue bastante complejo y desmotivador, termine descubriendo que mi velocidad de subida de internet es un 10% de la velocidad contratada. Llegando al punto que se hace imposible hasta subir una simple foto a Twitter. Considerando que uso el internet principalmente para crear contenido audiovisual y escrito este problema me hace prácticamente imposible trabajar. De nada sirve tener una buena velocidad de bajada sino tienes una velocidad de subida equilibrada.
Viendo esta situación el martes decidí quejarme con la empresa proveedora de internet para ver que podía hacer, me indicaron que iban agendar una visita de un técnico, pero es para el 22 de agosto. No es una fecha muy cercana pero tampoco esta tan lejos con lo cual digamos que quede medianamente conforme. El detalle esta en que ese mismo martes a las 11:20 de la mañana el modem de reinicio y no quiso conectar más, al revisar los parámetros del modem se observaba que no estaba recibiendo señal desde los equipos de la empresa.
La empresa proveedora de internet tiene soporte por Twitter que funciona relativamente bien, pero en esta caída por mas que me quejaba no me daban respuesta alguna y para rematar mi desdicha, la compañía de mi teléfono móvil empezó a presentar fallas en la señal y dentro de mi casa no tenía señal alguna. Debía desplazarme una cuadra y en plena calle usar mi teléfono móvil para poder hacer cualquier tarea que necesitara de internet. Finalmente, a las 7pm del miércoles es que llego el internet acompañado de un correo indicando que era un problema en la zona.

Lo peor de todo esto es que después de 32 horas sin conexión a internet y sin una explicación a tiempo de lo que pasaba durante todo ese tiempo, la velocidad de subida sigue sin ser la contratada y sigo atado a la hora de crear contenido, en una situación que da causa muchísima frustración ya que puedo usar internet, pero no puedo ocupar nada que necesite de una buena velocidad de subida. Con decir que ni Dropbox quiere sincronizar, se queda pegando indexando el contenido y nunca termina de sincronizar.
Mi mayor molestia es que yo como cliente tengo que entender todos los problemas que pueda sufrir la empresa que sean ajenos a su control, pero la factura de ellos no entiende nada. Si por ejemplo tu plazo de pago son los primeros cinco días del mes y no cancelas, ya al sexto día te están mandando mensajes de amenaza de corte con costes adicionales por reconexión. Su sistema no tiene en cuenta fallas bancarias, días festivos y fines de semanas. Debes pagar puntual pase lo que pase, pero tu como cliente no tienes un servicio igual de eficiente y estricto que su sistema de facturación.
Importante destacar que mi proveedor de internet es una empresa privada que también ofrece televisión por cable y tener internet implica contratar un paquete obligatoriamente. Yo por mi plan pago casi $32 dólares mensuales y la verdad no siento que este servicio valga ese precio sobre todo porque por lo menos una vez al mes tiene una falla de zona que te deja sin internet durante varias horas. Ahora con el problema de la velocidad de subida no se cuanto tiempo tarden en darme una solución real y pensar que yo puse este plan de internet para poder hacer streaming pero ahora no puedo ni subir una foto a Twitter.
