¡Hola a todos!

Este es un post bastante curioso ya que no suelo hacer catarsis de mis pensamientos, pero el día de hoy estuve pensando la cantidad de sacrificios que como persona tenemos que hacer para salir adelante, y en muchas ocasiones, debido a situaciones que son completamente inevitables y tenemos que recurrir a medidas drásticas para salir adelante e ir en búsqueda de una mejor calidad de vida.

Para hacer este post me baso en las experiencias que he vivido como venezolano que ha tenido que emigrar de su país y también en las experiencias que he visto de otras personas. Muy probablemente se estén preguntando: ¿Por qué una imagen de MultiVersus para un post de esta índole? Porque básicamente el protagonista de este post será mi amigo @starmangk, quien me ha hecho pensar bastante acerca de los sacrificios que debemos hacer y lo que muy probablemente sea injusta la vida en algunas ocasiones.

No hablaré tanto acerca del tema de emigrar ya que he tocado este tema superficialmente en otros posts, pero otra cosa que jamás había considerado siquiera era la cantidad de sacrificios que hay que hacer a la hora de tomar esta decisión. No me refiero explícitamente a las primeras cosas que se te pueden venir a la cabeza, como el abandonar a tus amigos y familia, o el tener que adaptarse a una nueva ciudad. Sea como sea, estas cosas son relativamente superficiales ya que para abandonar tu país natal es obligatorio tener que sacrificarlas, pero, ¿has pensado alguna vez en tener que tomar decisiones que sabes que cambiarán tu vida en una medida que jamás esperabas?

Cuando salí del país la situación fue relativamente "ok" para mí. Sí, admito que fue un poco difícil tener que dejar atrás a mis familiares y amigos cercanos, pero era un sacrificio que ya había meditado con bastante anticipación y esto me hizo estar mejor preparado para este viaje. En cuanto a mi estilo de vida, estaba completamente seguro de que Hive sería más que suficiente no para vivir cómodamente, pero sí lo suficientemente bien como para considerar esto una vida "normal".

Recuerdo perfectamente esa mezcla de emoción y miedo por la incertidumbre que me abordaba en ese momento. ¿Y si algo pasaba con Hive? ¿Y si algo me pasaba a mí? ¿Cómo iba a resolver con mis gastos si no lograba reunir para pagar mi arriendo? La cantidad de dudas que me abandonaban en ese momento fueron tantas que incluso ni siquiera quería tomnar el riesgo.

Ya casi ha pasado un año desde que llegué a Bogotá y el giro en 360° que mi vida tomó desde ese entonces aún me sigue dejando anonadado. Hacer mi propia comida, preocuparme por el aseo de mi hogar, siempre tener pastillas o medicamentos por si me enfermaba, tener que preocuparme por mis documentos, intentar estar siempre buscando algo para hacer por la ansiedad y el estar preocupado por no tener una fuente de ingresos suficiente para mis gastos.

Pero luego de haber vivido ya casi 1 año en el extranjero, puedo decir que la experiencia ha sido increíble. No todo salió como lo planeado, de hecho, tuve que buscar otras alternativas a Hive para poder tener una fuente de ingresos y eso está completamente bien. Jamás me imaginé aprendiendo a cocinar, jamás me imaginé tener que trabajar 12 horas seguidas en un día sin tener permitido sentarme o relajarme usando mi teléfono. Ser alguien que siempre se ha rodeado de computadoras también me ha limitado a ser alguien que sufría de ansiedad a la hora de intentar ganarme la vida de formas más convencionales y "normales". No me arrepiento de nada.

Solo en el primer día ya estaba sufriendo y quería abandonar el trabajo, pero ese pensamiento: "Si no hago esto, ¿cómo me ganaré la vida?" siempre invadía mi cabeza y es lo que me motivaba continuamente a seguir esforzándome, aprendiendo a velocidad de la luz y manteniendo el ritmo de los otros trabajadores con meses o años de experiencia trabajando.

Y es aquí donde quiero hablar de los sacrificios que quería mencionar en el principio del post. La forma en la que siento que la vida es completamente injusta con nosotros.

Antes de venir a Bogotá uno de mis hobbies favoritos era la fotografía. Gracias a @derangedvisions aprendí cosas básicas y no tan básicas de la fotografía que me hicieron ver este mundo de una forma completamente diferente y era una actividad que disfrutaba realizar. Unos cuantos meses después de estar en Bogotá, noté que realizar fotografías era básicamente imposible para mí ya que no tenía tiempo para nada, y gran parte de este tiempo era encerrado en las 4 paredes de mi habitación simplemente intentando ganarme la vida porque nadie más lo haría por mí.

Cuando estás limitado a unas 4 paredes es imposible tomar fotografías impresionantes o algo que llame realmente la atención, y las pocas veces que salía las aprovechaba para seguir disfrutando de este hobby, pero.. lastimosamente ya no es así. Hasta este punto diría que tomar fotografías es algo que sé hacer, pero simplemente no tengo la oportunidad de hacerlo porque la vida no me lo permite ya que debo estar enfocado en cosas más productivas o que me representen mejores beneficios en el corto plazo.

Y este fue solo uno de los sacrificios que tuve que hacer y terminé notando un montón de meses después.

Me considero una persona bastante social y disfrutaba tener a mis amigos cercanos cerca de mí, pero con el paso del tiempo terminé convirtiéndome en alguien que ya no necesita tener a personas cerca de sí. Tuve que sacrificar disfrutar de unos juegos porque ya no aportaban nada bueno a mi vida, tuve que convertirme en alguien que estaba velando por sí mismo en lugar de preocuparse por su familia ya que ni siquiera tenía la oportunidad para ello. Tuve que convertirme en alguien independiente cuando ni siquiera me sentía preparado para hacerlo.

Sí, tal vez no suena a algo de otro mundo, pero las batallas de cada persona son completamente diferentes. La cantidad de cambios físicos, emocionales y psicológicos que puede sufrir una persona son completamente subjetivos y es imposible decir en cuánta medida estos afectarán a una persona. En mi caso, ni siquiera noté todas las cosas que me ha tocado hacer y las cosas que he tenido que dejar de hacer para llegar hasta el punto donde estoy justo ahora: ¿Se trata de evolucionar como persona? ¿O de sacrificar el disfrute personal por tener que perseguir una supuesta "mejor vida"?

Hablar de ese tema también es bastante subjetivo porque la cantidad de distintas opiniones en base a experiencias diferentes hará que sea algo interminable, así que prefiero dejarlo como una pregunta filosófica. Pero la impotencia de no poder hacer nada para evitar estas situaciones es algo que quería mencionar.

Para quienes no lo saben, @starmangk es un amigo muy cercano que conocí gracias a Hive y desde entonces hemos jugado una gran cantidad de juegos juntos con más personas de la comunidad de videojuegos. Como mencioné al principio del post, él actualmente está considerando en irse del país y lastimosamente tuvo que vender su computador para así tener el dinero suficiente para tener que perseguir una mejor vida.

Y es aquí donde quiero que comiencen a pensarlo conmigo.

Imagínate invertir meses de tu vida porque uno de tus sueños es tener una computadora que te permita jugar una gran cantidad de juegos y que te permita jugar con tus amigos quienes usualmente están jugando cosas un poco más potentes y que tú obviamente no puedes jugar. Luego de meses de tanto esfuerzo y de buscar trabajos en varios lugares, logras comprar tu computador y disfrutas usarlo por unos 3-4 meses.

Pero ahora la situación de tu país es terriblemente mala y a pesar de tener una buena computadora no solamente para jugar si no para trabajar también (ya que es tu fuente de ingresos), la situación económica se hace insostenible. Este es el día a día de cualquier venezolano y es aquí donde tiene que considerar irse del país, y es aquí donde tienes que sacrificar cosas más allá de las superficiales. Imagínate, en esta ocasión, tener que vender tu computador por el que trabajaste tanto tiempo y que solamente disfrutaste por una cantidad de tiempo bastante ínfima en comparación a lo tanto que te esforzaste para obtenerlo y disfrutar con tus amigos.

Sé que la vida no se basa en una computadora y tampoco en disfrutar, pero eso no elimina el hecho de haber invertido meses en perseguir una meta para luego desecharla porque la situación de tu país te obligó a hacerlo. Eso es algo que personalmente no me tocó vivir de forma tan abrupta, pero de haberme tocado, hubiese sido bastante injusto pensar en tirar todo ese esfuerzo a la basura.

Esta sensación de impotencia tiene que ser algo demasiado desagradable y que muchos venezolanos deben vivir tarde o temprano mientras la situación económica del país se degrada cada vez más y más.

Me gustaría seguir escribiendo, pero siento que este post ya es lo suficientemente largo y he explicado mis pensamientos de forma clara haha. Quería hacer una especie de guía a la hora de emigrar, pero terminé haciendo un post de desahogo por lo injusta que es la vida haha.

This is a rather curious post since I don't usually do catharsis of my thoughts, but today I was thinking about the amount of sacrifices that as a person we have to make to get ahead, and on many occasions, due to situations that are completely unavoidable and we have to resort to drastic measures to get ahead and go in search of a better quality of life.

To make this post I base it on the experiences I have lived as a Venezuelan who has had to emigrate from his country and also on the experiences I have seen from other people. You are probably wondering: Why a MultiVersus image for a post of this kind? Because basically the protagonist of this post will be my friend @starmangk, who has made me think a lot about the sacrifices we have to make and how unfair life is probably sometimes.

I won't talk so much about the topic of emigrating since I have touched on it superficially in other posts, but another thing I had never even considered was the amount of sacrifices that have to be made when making this decision. I'm not explicitly referring to the first things that may come to mind, such as leaving your friends and family, or having to adapt to a new city. Be that as it may, these things are relatively superficial since leaving your home country requires you to make sacrifices, but have you ever thought about having to make decisions that you know will change your life to an extent you never expected?

When I left the country the situation was relatively "ok" for me. Yes, I admit it was a bit difficult having to leave my family and close friends behind, but it was a sacrifice that I had already meditated on well in advance and this made me better prepared for this trip. As for my lifestyle, I was completely confident that Hive would be more than enough not to live comfortably, but well enough to consider this a "normal" life.

I remember perfectly that mixture of excitement and fear due to the uncertainty that I felt at that moment. What if something happened to Hive? What if something happened to me? How was I going to manage with my expenses if I could not raise enough money to pay my rent? The amount of doubts that left me at that moment were so many that I didn't even want to take the risk.

It's been almost a year since I arrived in Bogotá and the 360° turn my life took since then still blows me away. Making my own food, worrying about the cleanliness of my home, always having pills or medicine in case I got sick, having to worry about my documents, trying to always be looking for something to do because of anxiety and being worried about not having a sufficient source of income for my expenses.

But after having lived abroad for almost 1 year now, I can say that the experience has been amazing. Not everything went as planned, in fact, I had to look for other alternatives to Hive in order to have a source of income and that's completely fine. I never imagined myself learning to cook, I never imagined having to work 12 hours straight in a day without being allowed to sit down or relax using my phone. Being someone who has always surrounded myself with computers has also limited me to being someone who suffered from anxiety when it came to trying to make a living in more conventional and "normal" ways. I have no regrets.

Only on the first day I was already suffering and wanted to quit the job, but that thought: "If I don't do this, how will I make a living?" always invaded my head and is what continuously motivated me to keep striving, learning at light speed and keeping pace with other workers with months or years of experience working.

And this is where I want to talk about the sacrifices I wanted to mention at the beginning of the post. The way I feel that life is completely unfair to us.

Before coming to Bogotá one of my favorite hobbies was photography. Thanks to @derangedvisions I learned basic and not so basic things about photography that made me see this world in a completely different way and it was an activity I enjoyed doing. A few months after being in Bogota, I noticed that doing photography was basically impossible for me since I had no time for anything, and most of this time was locked in the 4 walls of my room just trying to make a living because no one else would do it for me.

When you're limited to 4 walls it's impossible to take impressive pictures or anything that really catches the eye, and the few times I did go out I took advantage of them to continue enjoying this hobby, but... sadly that's not the case anymore. Up to this point I would say that taking pictures is something I know how to do, but I just don't have the opportunity to do it because life doesn't allow me to do it since I have to be focused on more productive things or things that represent me better benefits in the short term.

And this was just one of the sacrifices I had to make and ended up noticing a lot of months later.

I consider myself a pretty social person and I enjoyed having my close friends close to me, but as time went by I ended up becoming someone who doesn't need to have people close to me anymore. I had to sacrifice enjoying some games because they no longer brought anything good to my life, I had to become someone who was looking out for himself instead of worrying about his family since he didn't even have the opportunity to do so. I had to become someone independent when I didn't even feel ready to do so.

Yes, maybe it doesn't sound like something out of this world, but everyone's battles are completely different. The amount of physical, emotional and psychological changes a person can go through are completely subjective and it is impossible to say how much they will affect a person. In my case, I didn't even notice all the things I've had to do and the things I've had to stop doing to get to the point where I am right now: Is it about evolving as a person? Or is it about sacrificing personal enjoyment for having to pursue a so-called "better life"?

Talking about that topic is also quite subjective because the amount of different opinions based on different experiences will make it somewhat endless, so I prefer to leave it as a philosophical question. But the helplessness of not being able to do anything to avoid these situations is something I wanted to mention.

For those who don't know, @starmangk is a very close friend I met thanks to Hive and since then we've played a lot of games together with more people from the gaming community. As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, he is currently considering to leave the country and unfortunately he had to sell his computer in order to have

And this is where I want you to start thinking about it with me.

Imagine investing months of your life because one of your dreams is to have a computer that allows you to play a lot of games and that allows you to play with your friends who are usually playing things a bit more powerful and that you obviously can't play. After months of so much effort and looking for jobs in various places, you manage to buy your computer and enjoy using it for about 3-4 months.

But now the situation in your country is terribly bad and despite having a good computer not only to play but also to work (since it is your source of income), the economic situation becomes unsustainable. This is the daily life of any Venezuelan and it is here where you have to consider leaving the country, and it is here where you have to sacrifice things beyond the superficial ones. Imagine, on this occasion, having to sell your computer that you worked so long for and only enjoyed for a very small amount of time compared to how hard you worked to get it and enjoy it with your friends.

I know that life is not based on a computer and neither is it based on enjoyment, but that does not eliminate the fact of having invested months in pursuing a goal and then discarding it because the situation in your country forced you to do so. This is something that I personally did not have to live so abruptly, but if it had happened to me, it would have been quite unfair to think of throwing all that effort away.

This feeling of helplessness has to be something too unpleasant and something that many Venezuelans have to live sooner or later while the economic situation of the country degrades more and more.

I would like to keep writing, but I feel that this post is already long enough and I have explained my thoughts clearly haha. I wanted to make some sort of guide when it comes to emigrating, but I ended up making a post to vent about how unfair life is haha.
