There is nothing sadder than feeling a sense of emptiness that comes from being aware that our feelings were not taken into account, that our opinion does not have even a minimal value for the people we consider important, and it is even sadder when you notice that someone who earned a space in your complicated heart just disappears from your life, leaving that place that was not easy to get so easily as if it was nothing, when deep down I expected much more from that being who has not yet ceased to be special and now you must learn to forget. Yes, all this sounds really sad especially if you are like me, a person who does not open the door to anyone and all this happens by ignoring the signs that were everywhere, but unfortunately by that time I did not trust my instincts and all for wanting to be more open, provide more opportunities hoping (although I am not one of those who expect anything) something more.

No hay nada más triste que sentir sensación de vacío que se produce al ser conscientes de que nuestros sentimientos no fueron tomados en cuenta, que nuestra opinión no tenga un valor ni siquiera mínimo para las personas que consideramos importantes, y es aún más triste cuando notas que alguien que se ganó un espacio en tu complicado corazón desaparece de tu vida sin más, dejando ese lugar que no fue fácil de conseguir tan descaradamente como si no fuera nada, cuando en el fondo esperas mucho más de ese ser que aún no ha dejado de ser especial y ahora debes aprender a olvidar. Si, todo esto suena realmente triste en especial si eres como yo, una persona que no le abre la puerta a cualquiera y todo esto pasa por ignorar las señales que estuvieron por todas partes, pero lamentablemente para ese entonces no confié en mis instintos y todo por querer ser más abierto, brindar más oportunidades esperando (aunque no soy de los que esperan nada) algo más.

I like to believe that second chances are really necessary to be able to maintain any relationship, because it is clear that we make mistakes every day, we cannot expect to have a relationship of any kind that is perfect because that simply falls into irrationality and I do not consider that to be one of my characteristics under any circumstances. That yes, we must have certain standards when forgiving someone or letting things go, mainly we must take into account the importance and impact that the other person has in our life, based on that we focus on the seriousness of his fault and also very important to keep in mind what mental condition was the other person when he decided to do what disappointed us. Me gusta creer que las segundas oportunidades son realmente necesarias para poder mantener cualquier relación, porque está claro que nos equivocamos a diario, no podemos esperar tener una relación de ningún tipo que sea perfecta porque simplemente eso cae en la irracionalidad y no considero que ese sea una de mis características bajo ningún concepto. Eso sí, hay que tener ciertos estándares al momento de perdonar a alguien o dejar pasar cosas, principalmente hay que tener en cuenta la importancia y el impacto que tiene la otra persona en nuestra vida, partiendo de eso nos enfocamos en la gravedad de su falta y también muy importante tener presente en que condición mental estaba la otra persona cuando decidió hacer eso que nos decepcionó. Basados en todo eso se toma una decisión.

Si no es la primera vez que la otra persona comete esa transgresión las cosas se complican mucho más, porque de ser así hay que tener en consideración otros factores además de los que se mencionan anteriormente. De cierta manera la forma en la que planteo esto lo hace parecer más complicado de lo que es, pero solo intento dejar en claro la seriedad con la que tomo estás decisiones porque yo soy alguien que piensa muy bien las cosas antes de hacerlas y por esto mismo, al decidir algo después de pensarlo e intentar mirarlo desde todos los puntos de vistas posibles es muy complicado que desista de esa decisión, porque tengo en cuenta prácticamente todo y me anticipo a los escenarios que se puedan presentar, aun asi claro está que siempre hay excepciones y si he cambiado de parecer, sin embargo es muy poco probable que eso suceda.

I try to explain how this decision making works in my head because most of the people I know (from my point of view) do not take the time to consider everything and after making a desperate decision getting carried away by the feelings of the moment they regret later what they do or say, besides that they are so proud as to apologize and accept that they got carried away by the heat of the moment having as a major consequence to lose a friendship or to make enemies with someone who is really important even from loved ones who are part of their family.

Intento explicar cómo funciona esta toma de decisiones en mi cabeza porque la mayoría de las personas que conozco (desde mi punto de vista) no se toman el tiempo de considerar todo y después de tomar una decisión desesperada dejándose llevar por los sentimientos del momento se arrepienten luego de lo que hacen o dicen, además de eso son tan orgullosos como para disculparse y aceptar que se dejaron llevar por el calor del momento teniendo como mayor consecuencia perder una amistad o enemistarse con alguien que es realmente importante, hasta de seres queridos que son parte de su familia.

This is more about family and friends, now talking about the romantic part. In this case, I handle things in a very similar way but with some slight changes that at the same time may seem unnecessary to someone looking in from the outside. The reason for these changes that I consider minor but very necessary is because I am someone who respects their feelings very much, I am not interested in practically anyone romantically for this reason when it happens I do everything in my hands to not regret anything and betray my feelings letting myself get carried away by misunderstandings or transforming a difference of opinions into something bigger and meaningless. The slight changes I mentioned are being more patient, I am more willing to solve things because I really care that everything is ok and things like that.

Esto en lo que respecta más a la familia y amigos, ahora hablando de la parte romántica. En este caso, las cosas si las manejo de forma muy similar pero con algunos ligeros cambios que a la vez pueden parecer innecesarios para alguien que mire desde afuera. La razón de estos cambios que considero menores pero muy necesarios es porque soy alguien que respeta mucho sus sentimientos, no me intereso en prácticamente nadie románticamente por este motivo cuando sucede hago todo lo que esté en mis manos para no arrepentirme de nada y traicionar mis sentimientos dejándome llevar por malentendidos o transformando una diferencia de opiniones en algo más grande y sin sentido. Los ligeros cambios que mencioné son ser, más paciente, estoy más dispuesto a solucionar las cosas porque realmente me importa que todo esté bien y cosas por el estilo.

When anything negative happens I make sure to talk to the person in person if possible, especially if it is someone I love very much, it is much easier and real to solve things in person, face to face without detours or electronic devices in between that usually make it even more difficult to resolve differences and misunderstandings that you may have. I know that nowadays it is normal to talk about things at a distance for many reasons, the main one I would say is the lack of time, also because of the impatience of wanting to "solve things fast," when the best thing to do is to cool down a little and then talk about any problem.

Cuando ocurre cualquier cosa negativa me aseguro de hablar con la persona en persona de ser posible, en especial si se trata de alguien a quien quiero muchísimo, es mucho más sencillo y real resolver las cosas en persona, cara a cara sin rodeos o dispositivos electrónicos de por medio que por lo general dificultan aún más el resolver las diferencias y malentendidos que se puedan tener. Sé que actualmente lo normal es hablar las cosas a distancia por muchos motivos, el principal diría que es la falta de tiempo, también por la impaciencia de querer "solucionar las cosas rápido", cuando lo más recomendable es enfriarse un poco y luego hablar sobre cualquier problema.

Anyway, what I am trying to express is that I am very serious with all this decision making (well with all in general) what I recommend and what I am still learning to do is not to expect anything from anyone, it is very complex this but creating expectations of someone or a relationship only complicates things more because only in rare cases others exceed our expectations, experiencing it is really rewarding, however, disappointment is something very delicate and is very unfair to the other person because we ourselves are the ones who limit their opportunity to leave a good impression on us, living under the expectations of others never goes well, it is practically impossible to please a person completely, that is why we are individual beings and that is why there is free will, you must live by your rules, let others live and not expect the best, if not do the best you can every day of your life.

En fin, lo que intento expresar es que soy muy serio con todas esta toma de decisiones (bueno con todas en general) lo que recomiendo y que aún estoy en proceso de mejorar aún más es a no esperar nada de nadie, es muy complejo esto pero el crear espectativas de alguien o de una relación solo complica más las cosas porque solo en raros casos los demás superan nuestras expectativas, experimentarlo es realmente gratificante, sin embargo, la decepción es algo muy delicado y es muy injusto para la otra persona porque somos nosotros mismos los que limitamos su oportunidad de dejar una buena impresión en nosotros, vivir bajo las expectativas de otros nunca sale bien, es prácticamente imposible complacer del todo a una persona, por eso mismo somos seres individuales y por eso mismo existe el libre albedrío, debes vivir bajo tus reglas, dejar vivir a los demás y no esperar lo mejor, si no hacer lo mejor que puedas cada día de tu vida.
