It's that weird time of year, post Christmas but pre-new years eve. It have been trying to have some offline time and had some visits with family.
My mother gifted me this flower about a week before Christmas, it's called a Giant Amaryllis. I have never seen these before, this is what it looks like today with all 6 flowers bloomed!
When she gave it to me it was completely closed:
The care instructions just said to add a half cup of water, other than that I haven't done anything. I believe it's possible to let these go dormant and make them bloom again but I need to research a bit.
After only one day the flower started to open:
then it started going fast!
Every time I checked it had opened a bit more, I think these are perfectly times to open for Christmas somehow:
By Christmas day about 4 flowers had opened and I thought it was done but now there are 6 and I think it's at peak:
In other news I received a trail cam as a gift, it's all configured and we need to install it at the end of the yard where we see the most animal activity. The footage it takes looks very BLAIR WITCHY with the infra red and I am very excited to see what we capture!
