Last week I wrote about my experiment sprouting lentils and after finally yanking them out of the jar and eating them I will say it's been a success!
They had about 7/8 days in the jar and it got so packed that I had no choice but to remove them, it was actually difficult to do because they were so packed in!
This was the final haul:

Taste
Someone warned me that they hated the taste so I was a little apprehensive even though I have eaten sprouts before and really liked them. I thought they were pretty good and so did @vachemorte! In fact we have three more jars going with two different types of lentil and some navy beans.
We ate some raw in a salad which was quite tasty and also fried some up with vegetables and both were agreeable. They have a slight bitterness which may not suit everyone, I guess you have to try it for your self to see if it suits you :)
This time around we are using a smaller amount of legumes to allow them a bit more space to grow and maybe see if they taste different. Overall it's a pretty satisfying experience to grow something yourself and eat it and I think this is a fun easy way to make some extra greens very cheaply :)
