Technology has made life a lot easier, a lot of people are taking advantage of it and many are choosing a remote job over an - in-person job for various reasons.
Take for instance in my country, the high cost of transportation, and the traffic jams are some of the few reasons many would prefer to work virtually rather than physically.
If I could be a virtual fashion designer, without a second thought I would have grabbed the opportunity, but sadly my area of specialisation requires I am physically present.
Some fashion illustrators have the opportunity to work virtually as all they need to do is draw fashion styles using their personal computer and send them to the fashion home.
The only way I could work virtually as a fashion designer is to be an online tutor but I have offline students to teach as well which makes it very impossible to do.
For any person who would prefer to work remotely, I have thought of alternate working ideas that are quite seamless, enjoyable and lucrative.
Content creation
This is a very lucrative remote job that helps a person showcase their creativity through content creation, one who has a passion for writing, photography, videography, and graphic design should be able to fall into this category. Content creation is a versatile job that helps one diversify.
One can decide to work as a freelancer work for influencers or companies.
Language Translator.
A person who is a linguist or can understand different languages can fall into this category as they have the opportunity to leverage their skills and earn while at it.
All they need to do is to translate the various documents, websites and text.
Virtual Assistant
From the comfort of one home, one can work as a virtual assistant, or as a customer service representative, the job description includes handling inquiries and providing support via phone, email, or live chat.
Digital Marketing/ Social Media Assistant
One who is a social media freak can also leverage their time and earn while at it, such a person can work as a social media manager or handler, create an e virtual ad uploads and reply to messages on various social media platforms, this is such an enjoyable work as I have worked as one before.
Freelancer Writer/Ghost Writer
This is another beautiful alternate remote job for one who has knacks for writing, such a person can write for companies, or write as a freelancer, they could own a blog, share personal stories, or experiences from people in the form of fictional or none fictional stories and this is a cool way to earn while at home.
Online therapist
One doesn't need to have a physical office to be an online theorist, all you need is a stable network and a little cosy space in your room where you can do face time for consultation, and online counselling, and such a person can charge per the hours the clients used.
Podcaster
You have a very beautiful voice. Ever wished to work for radio but never gotten the opportunity? This is a good job for you, you just need a very good phone, microphone, tripod stand and a few good apps to get this started.
A podcaster can choose to have a niche, and just stick to it or they can be versatile, the choice is theirs.
You can still work for companies by advertising their products and services via audio if one has a very good voice and accent and this is one virtual job I love too.
Software Developer
The tech brothers and sisters in the building, the gbjs one is for you, if you are so talented when it comes to tech, you can work as a freelance developer or join a virtual team at a software company.
A software developer can decide to specialise in a particular niche as well, either to be a mobile app developer, a software engineer, or a web developer. This is a very broad and interesting remote job too.
Online Tutor
One can decide to have a virtual school where they teach students different things either academically or vocationally.
One can leverage your expertise in a particular subject or skill to teach students or people from all walks of life and of all ages from around the world.
I learned animations and creation virtually during the COVID-19 era and it was a fun experience, I was issued a virtual certificate after training.
Project Manager
This is a good a good job that helps you oversee projects online in various communities, all you need is good communication skills and organisation skills to be a part of this remote team.
Reviewer
You can decide to be an editor or reviewer and review books, movies, and projects just to earn.
Online vendor
Do you have a product to sell? Here is all you need, a good smartphone for photographs and a beautiful caption.
You can sell your goods in the comfort of your home, be it footwear, jewellery, thrift wear and the like, you just need a good marketing skill to build your online presence and good packaging to reach a lot of customers.
