The Internet is a bank of knowledge. Millions of resources are uploaded to the "net" every day and most of these resources are free to access while for some, one has to pay. These resources can impact one either positively or negatively. For this write-up, I would focus on the positives of learning things online.
Let's be practical here!
When I concluded high school, I didn't want to stay idle at home waiting for my admission letter into the higher institution so I applied to work as a teaching staff in one of the primary schools around my place of residence. My application to be a Maths teacher in the primary school was accepted due to my great performance in Maths and other subjects in my qualification exams results.
The school is good even though I had to leave those pupils when I finally received my admission letter. While in the school, every Friday is often the Club Day. We had different clubs like the Chess club, Dance club, Home management club, Photography club, Jets club and the rest. Pupils and staff were randomly grouped into different clubs and I fell into the jets club.
Every last Friday of the month, each club is expected to present any of their great works to the school. A few days before the last Friday, I and my colleagues in the Jets club gathered to brainstorm on what we would present.
One of my colleagues recommended the Balloon Car. He shared the YouTube video on the tutorial showing the procedures to make the Balloon Car. Next was to get the materials since we have the procedures.
A few days before D-day, we got the materials and also told the pupils to get theirs. We taught them how to make the Balloon Car and it was a successful exercise. We had one of the best presentations on the Club Exhibition Day and that wouldn't have been possible without us learning the procedures online.
Just like I said, there are millions of resources online waiting for people to explore them. Some may be in form of videos, articles and audio. For videos, I would recommend TikTok, YouTube and even Leoshorts. Have you heard of Leoshorts? It's a new feature in the #inleo front where one can also watch and upload short videos. I checked up on some shorts today on Inleo and I found amazing videos. One of the videos I must commend and recommend is from @coyotelation. It's a video on how to remove a broken key from a door handle. Why am I recommending it? Here's why, from that video, I was able to follow his procedures to save everyone at home when our key broke in the padlock due to rust. I was the savior of the house that day but no one knew I learned it from somewhere, the internet (online).
Hive is a better place to be and learn a lot of things. On hive, major articles published are always in the form of writings. One can visit certain writing communities here on Hive and read others’ writings to accumulate knowledge. I can recommend communities like "hivenaija, theinkwell, hiveghana, Neoxian, freewriters, hive learners" and many more. These are communities on hive one can explore and learn from writings. Some communities love practical things like cooking, fashion and music here on Hive and we all know them.
Outside Hive blockchain, there are many other online resource websites to learn and this backs up the saying, “Learning never ends”.
Thanks for reading.
