Growing up there is a talent I didn't struggle to master, it comes naturally to me, no pretence, no struggle,just nature, and that'steaching. I remembered how I used to go home with used and chalk remnants from school, gather younger ones in my neighborhood and started teaching them. I have an endowed communication skill and even though am an introvert, whenever there is a learner that I want to impact with knowledge, the extrovert part of me will shoot out.
Immediately after my secondary school,My English Language Teacher, who is a school proprietor, contacted me to come and teach in his nursery and primary school. I didn't even write an application and I was given the role of class teacher, I may not be an expert thought, but then I taught with everything in me.
So, knowing fully well that I teach without struggle, coupled with my Mummy's testimony about my teaching expertise I decide to pursue a career in Education.I decided to study Education course in University. So, while others are applying for Law,Journalism, Mass Communication, Psychology and all, I opt for English Language and Education. I know with that I will be trained rigorously, taken through all the rudiment courses that will make me a certified teacher, by studying a course in Education and English Language and Literature my favourite an added advantage to me.
As Education students taking courses in university, some often experience anxiety and or panic whenever teaching practices,or micro teaching is approaching, likely to classroom management, lesson delivery, lack of confidence, low self esteem etc And you wouldn't blamed them because, inadequacy lesson delivery in class will have adverse effects in their scores. You wouldn't blamed most of them, because they found teaching an harcullen taskI have never develop cold feet during teaching practices or micro teaching. why? of course, because teaching comes naturally to me.
During Service year, while others are worried and seeing camp officers in order to curry Favour from them so they will not be posted to schools but rather ministries, firms, or companies. I didn't fridget.
I was posted to a Private Secondary School, where I taught passionately and affectionately.
Till today, I am attaining feat, breaking records in teaching! My Students have been going for competition and winning awards, this is a crown am wearing with all confidence!
Teaching is my passion, my safe place, an haven for me. I will not only teach diligently, but with passion and affection.
