Love is not exactly enough, this is one of the things they never told us. Maybe they want us to experience it and see it for our eyes, I do not know.
With a big heart filled with love, that is how one enters marriage, dressed in all white, laughter and smiles as the camera shines it light on you, with a soul and mindset tuned to the last bus stop of this if forever. But what happened after just a few months in, you woke up to be a changed person, the love you have for the person is not longer there. Not because that person changed, but because you changed.
Knowing that you are no longer in love with the so called love of your life is like waiting at the train station when there is no longer a train coming. That is when different thoughts and questions begins to scroll through your mind, you begin to doubt you humanity, your ability to love, your commitment, the vows you made and maybe the choice you made too. That is when everything feels like disloyalty, yet you are both loyal to eachother. It starts feeling like you are neglecting eachother, and yet you are giving eachother the attention needed. No sign of abandonment.
The feeling are clashing: remorse, shame, panic, sorrow, dejection and sometimes, you feel relieved. But you know what the truth is, when the feeling start fading, what you are doing after is what true love is. So what do you do? Sincere reflection. That is the very first step you take, activate by pressure, disappointments, dashed hope or maybe detachment? Or it is a deeper inconsistency that some marriages attempt or are keeping it as secrets?
The next thing you endeavour to do is to have a deep discussion with your spouse and even yourself. It is not about pouring and putting fault on eachother, it is all about being honest and getting sincere with one another. You want peace for yourself.
Whether fate allows you to remain together and heal gratefully or path ways after doing those things, make sure that silent treatment will not destroy what is left totally. Some marriages will not stand the test of times therefore they are lessons she not till death do us part. And even when there is no more love, honour, respect, and harmony, unity and kindness do not have to end.
Because at times, the affectionate and caring thing someone can do is only to let go.
