I grew up in Nigeria, where love was wrapped in tradition, silence and a whole lot of endurance. My dad was the provider, commander and the strongest, while my mom was the nurturer also soft but unbreakable. Their relationship wasnβt loud with affection, but through actions, meals are served without complaints, respect were shown without question and all. I didnβt think much of it back then and I just thought every home was like that.

Growing up, I mostly had my mum around, and for as long as I can remember, my parents were not on good terms. Even though I didnβt witness a lot of their misunderstandings firsthand, I always knew things were not right between them. And as much as Iβve tried to live my life without letting their situation affect me, I canβt deny that it shaped me in more ways than I ever realized.

Today however, we're blessed with the social media. A means of engagement that interconnects people from far and near, of known and unknown identities to each other for a shared form of interaction. Through the several social media platforms, it's undoubtedly true that what we've come to see and listen to can have an impact on us.
