Hello everyone, a wonderful weekend, and happy Sunday to everyone.
I recall when I first got into the Hive Blockchain. I was intrigued by the idea that people could read my work, and it was a site where you earn, but far from that, you get to meet different people from all over the world. I was so excited; I needed everything perfect; I wanted to leave a good impression. I spent three days working on my introduction post. It was fun once I got in, but then that's when the real work began.
I made a couple of mistakes and some personal assumptions once I got into the blockchain. First, I thought the only thing valuable on the Hive blockchain was the HBD, because that was the only thing I could exchange for money. I had no knowledge of what the tokens do—the Hive or the HP. I was also ignorant in that department. I never knew tags were important when it came to tokens. What I assumed or thought was that tags just boost your post; they bring voters to my post. That wasn't far from true, but that was all I knew. I thought Hive wasn't as important as HBD because it was very low in value, but I was wrong because Hive has an important value on the blockchain. @tengolotodo explained to me the importance of Hive. In his words, he said, "Hive is the native coin of the Hive Blockchain; hive is our cryptocurrency, and we can buy and sell Hive on a centralized exchange like Binance."
I really never understood the place of Bitcoin on Hive or how to get Bitcoin itself. Recently, I found out that you can exchange Hive for Bitcoin, and let's face it, Hive is growing in the market, making progress here and there. I found out that everything you earn in your account is valuable in every possible way. You can power up your Hive, or HP. I learned how to power up from the Zealy campaign; one of the tasks was for you to power up.
Then something I couldn't get my head around but learned was swapping. I never knew you could swap your tokens, Hive, or HBD for any form of token, and you can swap tokens into HBDs. I learned fast, and it's been helping me so far.
Another thing that, as a newbie back then, I couldn't get my head around was communities. In my first months on Hive, it was a big rough time when it came to writing in communities or choosing the correct community to write in, and this has always been a lot of a newbie problem on the Hive Blockchain. Overcuriosity could land you in a mess when projected wrongly without guidance, and guess what? I was overly curious, so posting in the wrong community without reading the rules got me in a mess; I wasn't curated; and lastly, I was warned. That made me feel discouraged, but that helped me learn that in every community, make sure you follow their rules and regulations so as to be on the safer end, and instead of being curious and thinking I could do it myself, it's much better to look for friends who are generous and patient enough to explain to me clearly. And guess what? The people here are ready to help. Just be open about what you don't understand, and a lot of people will come to your rescue.
Anything I took for granted and regretted, but I immediately got to understand it's used was the INLEO thread. Like other people out there, I didn't understand what the INLEO thread was all about, so it didn't interest me. I didn't know you get INLEO tokens from just writing or engaging in threads, but now I know how important it is. Being an INLEO premium user, I am given a lot of privileges that a lot of users are not given. My posts are curated unfairly by the INLEO voters; just as long as I post in the right community, my content is original, there is no plagiarism, and lastly, I use the INLEO IU front to post and edit my post, I am good to go.
I have learned from my mistakes, and they have helped me in a drastic way to grow. I got into Hive Blockchain 8 months ago, and I like the progress I'm seeing so far.
Thanks for reading my post.
