I was at the barbering saloon this afternoon with my kids, where they had their hair cut. On second thought, I decided to throw this prompt question to the barber since he was discussing something a bit similar with other guys over there, a story they saw in a movie.
And then I asked him, what if in real life, on your 20th birthday, you found out that your dad is the runaway son of a doting criminal warlord, and your mom is the daughter of an equally doting secret agent? Both of your parents are looking to make you the next heir of their family, and considering how much you have lived an average life, would you accept this offer upon realization of who your parents truly are? What would you do?
It will interest you to know that this guy didn't even think twice before responding. In his words, he said my struggles are over! Who wants to suffer in life after seeing a solid financial foundation, and who cares if the money is legit or not? What matters is that there is money to continue life with and live a soft life without struggles, and many other statements he made in this regard. One thing I know is that we have different personalities; humans see things differently, with different characters, values, beliefs, and morals. Some people have shallow mindsets to the point that at age 20, they haven't even defined their directions in life.
No dreams, no vision, or ambitions, and that's why every mild wind that blows on their way carries them along, whether good or bad. As for me, I wouldn't crucify my parents upon this realization, but I will let them know that they are on the wrong track. Obviously, I am not going to be a partaker of such a next heir. Heir to what exactly? To evil? To illegal wealth? At the cost of my peace? Peace of mind is a luxury to me, and the last time I checked, I still had a functional human conscience. I would never sell mine!
Again, I have an integrity to protect. At 20, I already know what is good or bad. I already have a dream I am pursuing to achieve in life, and standing on an existing protocol of my parents evil wealth will be a no-no for me, I wouldn't be the one to finish their evil project . It's a personal answer anyways ; life is always a choice. Everyone has different views about life, and that's why we will have different people react differently if offered this kind of stuff.
Money is good; it makes life easier, and that's why I am always hustling my way to success, but that shouldn't make me dance to a wrong tune because I want money. Instead, I strive to help my parents retrace their steps.
