Let me share a memorable experience i had when I was in Delta State, I had this neighbor who is married to a very wealthy businessman. On a Sunday afternoon, she knocked at my door and brought an invitation for her child's one-year birthday party. Initially, I thought it was just a normal, regular birthday party. Three days before the birthday celebrations, I was already seeing different cars and trucks driving in and out of our compound, some bringing in canopies, interior decorations, a DJ, and even a live cow was brought in. It was as if they were planning for a wedding ceremony.
Fast forward to the day of the birthday party, it was on a Sunday, so I had to first attend church service before attending the party. On my way coming back from church, just from the entrance of my street, I started seeing different makes of cars parked along our street, like everywhere was filled up already. I wondered what could be happening. I didn't even think it was the birthday party in my house because I thought there was no way a one-year-old child could pull such a crowd. I got home and saw that everywhere was already set for the party. You need to see the settings for this birthday party; it was like an average Nigerian wedding setting 😄. I had to quickly change into something and join the party.
The class of people that came for this birthday party was overwhelming. Their fellow wealthy businessmen and women, politicians from the state, all came to grace this occasion. Hope you won't be surprised if I tell you that the baby celebrant slept throughout the birthday party 😅, like this baby wasn't even awake to cut the luxury cake they made for her. I was just so overwhelmed and couldn't help but whisper to myself that indeed I will never be poor in my life. A whole cow was slaughtered for a one-year-old's birthday celebration, while at my age, I have never even thrown a birthday party for myself before, not to talk of doing it in a big way like this 😅. In fact, I was motivated to work harder, even if not for my own benefit but to give my unborn children a better life.
That experience left a lasting impression on me, and I'm determined to strive for success, not just for myself but for the sake of my loved ones..
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed reading.
