Having to save my friend at the expenseexpense of my integrity is something veryvery hard to do. I love upholding my integrity and making sure I save my lovedloved ones too. TheThe case of lying to save my friend from the wrath of her parents is very hard, hard, but let me just imagine this.
My friend comes to the house and asksasks to escort her tothe club, the club, and I tell
"No,"No, dear,dear, tell your parents first.first."
"They won't let me,me, you know.know."
I will tell her the consequences of not tellingtelling her parents where she is going..
"What ifif something bad happens?happens?" I'll tell her.. I let here know that therethere might be a clash in the club or something worseworse than that.
"We would not experience that, that," she replied.
"Okay "
We left for the club by 7pm, and we arrivedarrived there by 7:15pm.
We dance and have fun, while I still check the time so that we would go back to the house.
"I'm not leaving anyone you know.know."
Simi wouldwould say,say, "Yes,Yes, I know.know."
But deep down in her mind, mind, she doesn't want to goback to back to that time. She gets drunk and startsstarts misbehaving in the club.
"Hey beautiful"
"It's her ex-boyfriend!-boyfriend!"!
Simi bumpsbumps into her ex,ex, and they start chatting.. I won't let her follow him home. So everyone now and then I would shift close to her, tell her that her parents might be looking for her, so she needs to be fast about anything she is doing.
"Yeah, I know my love," she said.
By nine thirty, Simi lied to me; she told me that she was going to the restroom, and I believed her because she is my friend. After a while, I noticed that her ex left with her too. I tried calling her, and she did not pick up. I get worried and feel bad about it.
The club is finished, and everyone is retiring back to their homes.
"I can't find Simi."
Within me, I know that she has gone with her ex-boyfriend, but I just want to act like she was not, and maybe she was kidnapped.
"Hello, I came with my friend, but I can't find her anywhere."
The security man would pretend at first like he did not hear me; I would say again, and then he would tell me
"She went with her boyfriend."
"Say, ex," I whispered.
I went back home alone, trying to pretend as if nothing happened, then my phone rang—a call from Simi's mom.
"Hello ma"
"Where is your friend?"
"I... don't hello, hello."
I pretend as if the network was bad.
"Oh my God, Simi, I warned you," with a shaky voice.
Phone rings again and off it.
The next morning, I call Simi.
"Simi, are you okay?"
"Yes, I am."
"Your mom called me last night."
"Wha..t did you tell her?"
"I did not answer her."
"I'm back home, and I told them I was with you all through the night."
"What did you say?"
Simi's mom invited her over to their house and went. When I reached there, she asked me to tell her the whole truth.
I told her that Simi and I went clubbing, but nothing bad happened. She forced it out of me, and I still tell her that nothing bad happened to us; we just went clubbing for the first time in our lives, and nothing bad happened.
