Hi guys it's amazing to be in this great community.
For this week's prompt, I'll be writing on the topic " the skill I've never learnt before but can do Conveniently"
Not every skill comes from classroom learning, tutorials or training. Most times we don't know we've got a talent until we try something new and then get to discover it. For me, styling and tying head wraps is a skill I've got naturally.
I've never attended a tutorial or step-by -step training on how to tie,but it's just something I see myself doing with so much ease.
I'm passionate about fashion and everything it entails but I didn't know I could actually tie a head tie until one fateful day when I decided to give it a try and see how it would look. I carried my mom's head tie ,wrapped it around my head and boom ... .the result was so amazing that I got compliments from people at home who saw it. From that day,I started doing it more often with different types of fabrics and applying different techniques to it,such as folding, pleating, using pins to clip some parts and rubber band to tie some parts and it keeps coming out so beautifully.
Things I so much love about this head wrap styling is the creativity it allows and the fact that there are no fixed rules to doing it,I can style it anyhow I want, elegant, bold, simple ,classy or any style that suits the mood. I match it mostly with my outfit or mood . It gives me freedom to be artistic and unique without having to spend so much.
Wearing a head wrap tied by my own hands makes me feel so excited and proud of myself .It makes me feel happy that something I do naturally on my own without any form of training makes me and other people look beautiful.
People always ask me to teach them how to tie their head wraps or bring it for me to tie for them which I always do so gladly and it always amazes me because I haven't been taught by anybody. And that makes me discover that I have a very special talent from God.
It reminds me that talents can appear in the most unexpected ways. You don’t always need a teacher to learn something valuable. Sometimes, the best skills are the ones that come from within, natural, effortless, and full of personal meaning.
In a world that often measures success by certificates and training, I’ve come to appreciate the value of gifts like this skills we never learned, but can do beautifully well.
