The chess game, would you call it a mind game or Luck if you win.
I once played this game while I was learning with my uncle. But not physically, it was on phone.
I was quickly learning, not how to move them. But how to move them in a tricky way and create traps that the opponents can't avoid. And device strategies to winning.
Just like playing the X and O game, the first position from tye opponent determines where the next player would place his or letter . Any wrong move, and you're in a trap you can't escape.
Same with the CHESS. People who haven't played it yet, might think it's luck. But no!!
Chess is a mind game. It needs the player to think strategically. Have a problem solving and analytical skills. The players needs to outmaneuver thier opponents to make wrong decisions. Then, stands back to make pre-informed decisions and anticipated determinant moves.
Luck plays a little role in minor occasions like blunders or lack of strategic skill by opponents.

Next time you see a good chess player, luck is not always on his side.
It's years of experience, devotion and passion for learning and playing the chess well.
Let's talk about the characters; |
---|
In the chess game, each player starts with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns.
King: The King is the most important piece, the objective of the is to protect your king and checkmate your opponent's king. The king moves one square in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).

Queen: The most powerful piece, the queen is able to move any number of squares in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). I do not know why the queen should be more powerful than the king๐. But just know, when you're playing the chess be mindful of how you move around your opponent's queen.
Rook: A strong piece that can move horizontally or vertically any number of squares. Rooks are also involved in the special move called "castling", even with the king.

Bishop: Bishops can move diagonally in any direction. Each bishop starts on a square of the same colour and can only move on that particular colour.
Knight: These characters only move in an L-shape manner (two squares in one direction, then one square to the side). Knights are the only characters that can jump over other characters
Pawn:Not really strong and important as much as the queen and king. The pawn also known as foot soldiers are able to move forward one square but capture diagonally one square. Pawns have the option to move forward two squares on their first move. After that, no more. They can also be promoted to any other character (except a king) when reaching the opponent's end of the board.

Number of boxes on the Chess board; |
---|
A standard chessboard has 64 squares, arranged in an 8x8 grid. The squares are usually coloured in a checkered pattern.
That is;
32 light-coloured squares (often white or beige) and
32 dark-colored squares (often black or brown)
So, there are 32 black (or dark-colored) squares and 32 white (or light-colored) squares on a chessboard.
How are characters eliminated; |
---|
In chess, characters are "eliminated" or say "captured" when one character lands on the square occupied by an opponent's character.
But the pieces have their own way of capturing.

For example, most pieces capture the way they move (except pawns). Pawns capture diagonally one square but move forward.
When a piece captures an opponent's piece, the opponent's piece is removed from the board.
Note, You can't capture the king; instead, you checkmate it to win.
What is checkmate? |
---|
Checkmate is when a player's king is under attack and there's no way to the king can escape the check. This means the king is in a position to be captured (in "check"), and there's no legal move that can get it out of capture (mate).
When this happens, the game is over, and the player who checkmates their opponent wins.
Besides checkmate, a game of chess can also end in a win for one player if their opponent resigns or runs out of time , for example, if it's being played with a count down. Also if a player has more material (pieces) or characters than their opponent and it's clear they can't recover, they might resign. Leaving the opponents in a win position.
But checkmate is the best way to win, of course....
It gives a player Aura๐๐

I'll like to ask @godfish @merit.ahama and @imohmitchel What strategy they use to win when playing chess , if they actually know how to play it.
Thanks for read through...
