Every new week i am always happy and enthusiastic to see the wonderful topics that HiveNaija always bring, this is because it gives me a room to express my deepest thought and break forth the silent within me related to the topic of each week...
well to reflect on a failure that thought me an important lesson was during high school, i had a faulty foundation during high school days. So It really affected, its took me years before i could understood who i was in school and even to cop up.
In Nigeria my country before you can further into any higher institutions, you must pass an external exam either WAEC ( west African examination council) or NECO ( National examination council ) including Jamb exam which you must qualify as a entering point to the university and above all you must have at least 5 credit units including mathematics and English language in any of the two bodies while Jamb you must score at least 180 and above which will give you access into any of the higher institution of your choice if not you are no moving to any where.
You can't be admitted into any of the approve higher institutions in Nigeria if you don't have the requirements above.
Unfortunately i was one of the victim of failure here when its come to this two bodies of exam except that of Jamb body. My firs attempt to write WAEC and NECO, I fail woefully. I could not get the minimum requirement to go into the institutions i wanted to further.
Seeing this , i was traumatized, reason was because i was really eager to move ahead but what really happened that i couldn't make it ,
Am i really dull or what ??
I do taught my class mate mathematics and see me now, i can't move forward. This thing really gave me tough time in life. Before i could recovered, it took me months.
I was disappointed and i lost confidence on my self.
I cry and cry at if the world has come to an end for.
I could luck my self inside room crying all days but thank God for my parents whom they never gave up on me. They stood by me and always encouraged me that i shouldn't worry , failure is not the end of a life and that great people always experienced this kind of things in their life time.
So i encouraged my self and i continue to pursue my carrier. I have to calm my self and start studying my books again. I almost gave up on my carrier pursuit because of the several failures while writing those exam.
Due to my consistency and never to give up, I wrote the exam again and i pass .
Now the guy, rather the boy that fail several times and was discourage some years ago got admission into one of the recommended and highly recognised higher institution in the country to study one of the toughest course ever statistics.
When ever i tells people i am studying statistics back then in school, they were always surprised.
Finally i am overwhelmed with joy because i am now a graduate of statistics .
This really sharpened my perspective in this is that life is a journey and for you to succeed you must never give up
When you give up, it means you have failed.
Failure is not the end of everything but is a beginning of breakthrough to success when you don't give up. So When you give up ,it means you have fail automatically.
Another thing that sharpened my understanding is a passion that drives me , it makes me to push forward and never relents despite the discouragement of others.
Don't give up when you fail.....
