Bannatyne Health Club first opened in 2005 in the West Side district of Birmingham City called Brindley Place.
They offer Gym, Spa, Sauna, Steam Room, Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi services. Fitting for a health and leisure club.
I was born very close to Brindley Place, my old hang and first home situated about 5 mins walking distance from Ladywood, where i was brought up. I remember a young Jin always curious about this Health Club; i would always walk past it to and fro the City Center. Just as i mentioned a couple years ago when i got the chance to work for Pizza Express during my very first forray as a Kitchen Porter, i never thought I would be good enough to work in Brindley place, let alone for a restaurant and this top notch Health Club.
But hey, a decade and more later, you ask about Jin in many of the restaurants, hotels, and even now Gyms downtown, i am known. Did i ever tell you how i landed the part time job? During the interview, my fabulous boss from the Carribean lands asked why she should hire me for the job, to which i responded "You are missing out if you don't." Promptly within a day i received the job.
(Side note: the same question was put to me when i attended a sudden interview at Adam's Restaurant, a 1 Star Michelin joint deep downtown, by the Nepalese manager the size of a dwarf. He asked me why i should be hired, to which i responded "Listen brotha, you're missing out if you don't.". Again promptly, this time within half the day, i received the job. Moral? Just don't give a toss and speak your mind. If you are confident in your talents they will know what's good for them).
I enjoy working here.
In the video i speak about lazy colleagues. The two that appear on video are not the lazy ones. In fact they are some of the hardest workers i have had the privilege in being in a team with.
