I want to preface this by saying that the articles written about it, the polls, and the test itself are just as likely to be fake news as the people the test is suggesting are most likely to believe fake news. It would be the ultimate irony if that was the test's objective from the start. However, this does seem to be a rather vigorous test and the results are going to piss people off because while it does show that a lot of different groups are particularly vulnerable, it does skew in a certain direction.

Now it's a bit funny how things just happen to line up exactly like this but before anyone loses their shit just look at how close the score actually is here: For the most part, all demographics according to political affiliation are nearly the same as far as how likely they are to believe fake news or "misinformation." Just to see how many people get triggered by this without understand what is going on, I am going to hide the fact that a high score is actually "better" as far as being able to identify fake news is concerned.
Nearly 70,000 people performed the test in 24 countries and the quiz takes only a few minutes to complete. It was developed by ChatGPT and it took two years to get all the participants to answer. I guess you could say that they did their homework and tried to make this as scientific as possible but I do find it amusing that in order to eliminate the bias that would almost certainly invade any sort of thing relating to political affiliation, they had to leave it up to AI in order to get a real result.
One thing that may surprise you as well as a large swath of self-righteous youngsters, the study found that younger people, more specifically people that have always had smartphone be a part of their lives, are considerably more susceptible to fake news than the boomers or older folks that they constantly accuse of being suckers for misinformation.
I think it is quite common for the "new" generation to presume they are smarter than the ones that came before, but in this particular sense, Gen-Z is actually considerably worse at identifying fake news than Boomers, Gen-X, or Millennials are.
