This week's prompt is about pollution. Well I would say that most of the places in Africa experience one sort of environmental pollution or the other. And the government is not helping matters. A lot of the pollution could be dealt with if strict laws were made and enforced against them.
My Experience With Pollution In My Environment
I witnessed lots of pollution in my environment. From pollution with waste to noise pollution. In the area where I currently reside people dump lots of waste carelessly by the roadside. And it's been a long time since I saw the waste removal personnel work to remove them. So if rains that leaves the streets, some not all, messed up and the air smelling bad. There used to be a fine against perpetrators of this polluting activities but it has long stopped.
Also noise pollution is rampart where I live. Automabiles fills the air with their sounds and others. Sometimes the noise get on your nerves.
The Role Of The Government
I think a lot of the environmental pollution would be prevented if the government played their role well. They should enact policies that would deter people from willingly messing up the environment. Anyone found guilty should be made to pay severely. The reason people go about freely marking the environment with dirt is because they know they won't be punished for doing so.
Why Preventing Pollution Is Very Important
This is because pollution makes the environment unhealthy to live in. People can contact diseases from the wastes dumped by the roadsides or water bodies. It can even spread airborne diseases.
Conclusion
The reason the government exists is to bring order to the society and if they refuse to play that role a lot or things would go wrong. The problem of environmental pollution would be solved if the government took it seriously and punished offenders.
