Hearing my mom usually complain about how hard science and technology has hit the world. She would always say that life would have been better if there were no phones and all. But is this really true? In my opinion, it was mostly because of science that we have made it this far. We have acquired different knowledge due to science and technology. I had just read Mr @burlarj post where he mentioned a woman being proclaimed as a witch because her husband and children were stooling and vomiting. As much as I hate to admit it, humans were no where close to achieving anything during that time. Killing people because of mere illnesses that were thought to have been the power of a witch was just pure ignorance.
With science, we have acquired different knowledge, from making of vehicles, to kitchen gadgets and more. Science has brought more meaning to most actions that we humans take in our daily lives. Cars might be expensive and have disadvantages like accidents, but on the bright side, rushing a person to a hospital with horses or carriages doesn.t sound like something that gravely injured person might survive. Although science has still caused a few problems regarding evolution and humans origin. Personally, I believe God exists, but for humans to evolve from fish???? Nah, I still wouldn't accept it
When i was scrolling through my facebook a few days back, I saw one of Albert Einstein's quotes. It said "I dont know with what weapons world war III will be fought, but world war IV will be fought with sticks and stones" The quote really hit hard. What I understand is that with our current level of science and tech, world war III might wipe out half or more of humanity. When that time comes, the later generations may not be able to inherit the brains of their ancestors, bringing us to the BEGINNING. While science holds many advantages, the disadvantages are just as much. The power of knowledge is truly beyond our imagination. Knowing too much might just make us forget it all.
