Vaccines are a crucial part of modern medicine and have been there since the 18th century, helping to protect individuals and communities from infectious diseases. They work by stimulating the body's immune system to recognize and fight pathogens, such as viruses or bacteria, without causing the disease itself.
Vaccines play a vital role in protecting individuals and communities from serious diseases. They help prevent outbreaks like Ebola, COVID-19, bird flu, and others. It reduces the spread of infections and safeguards vulnerable populations like the elderly, young children, and those with weakened immune systems.
During COVID-19, everybody was taking the vaccine, but I refused to take it because I saw the reactions and effects it had on people around me, like my grandmother who fell seriously ill and couldn't even stand up.
My mother took the vaccine and experienced the same thing - she had a very high fever and was shivering. Seeing how it affected them, I gently told myself to stay away from it.
During COVID-19, different kinds of misinformation were circulating - some said it kills people, that the white men want to use it to reduce the African population. Some said the vaccine is a virus that they are giving to people.
The Ebola season was the worst as there were no vaccines for prevention, unlike COVID , During Ebola we had to bathe with salt and drink saltwater to prevent it. I told them that I wouldn't join them in taking it because I can't risk having heart problems.
That made everyone to stop. The only vaccines that I have taken with no side effects were for yellow fever and hepatitis. It's good to take vaccines just to be on the safe side but not like me that like to see the reactions on others first before I will take mine.
