Power is almost like one of the basic needs in life nowadays. One of the first things I ask about whenever I want to move into a place is the power supply.
An environment with a poor power supply, no matter how beautiful it is, is a place I can't venture to live in for long. Life nowadays is digital, some people's jobs are even online. Most of the industries that produce food and other products that we use need power to run.
With the way power is very important in our society, I wish it would be taken seriously and remain constant in supply but unfortunately, in some parts of the world it is not taken into consideration.
Power in my local government is very scarce in the town but in villages the supply is steady. Sometimes I wonder whether it is the population and the kind of activities that take place in town that makes it so.
Whatever the case may be, I wish something would be done about it so that people will enjoy the services they are paying for.
Lucky me, I live in a rural area, the power supply is fair. If not recently, sometimes we used to have light throughout the day without a blink.
But since we entered this month, things have changed a bit, the supply has not been as stable as it used to be but we rarely go a day without having power for at least 15 hours.
In the town, light is rationed, their bill is usually high, yet they highest they enjoy power in a day is 9 hours.
We pay community bill where I live. My house uses direct light. Prepared meters aren't that common here. Not that people don't want to use it but it is just like a waste of money because at the end of the day the person using prepaid meter might end up spending more money than the one paying the direct bill to the community.
Electricity where I live is okay, we are enjoying power, I won't lie but I know this will only last as long as the place remains undeveloped, but with time, as the population of the place increases and activities begin to increase, we may begin to experience problems with the supply.
