For some couple of years now, I've joined the clique that feels like 24 hours isn't enough anymore, as stressful as it sounds, it is infact the truth, these days I just go with the flow of work and other important daily activities not even caring about the time anymore, because even when I preplan to get certain things done at a certain time limit, i mostly get to use up the whole time and needing more the reason I could be working around mid night and it still feels like day to me, working with so much energy and all, my job as a fashion designer can take the much blame for this time consuming lifestyle
Sometimes I envy people that have the luxury of procrastinating, because I believe there is a stage you get in life, you know that you don't have the option of wasting time anymore, because those that do probably don't have a pressing motivation or responsibility to get up and do the right thing at the right time, or probably because they already have someone taking the sacrifice for them, If not, that feeling of inadequacy would have made them rethink procrastination.
Taking time off every once in a while to either rest or binge-watch a favourite movie after completing some set goals, isn't a bad thing, as all work and no play or rest also gets boring and unhealthy, this isn't a waste of time as our body needs some time to rejuvenate which can only happen during breaks or rest, at this point, it isn't procrastination but being intentional about your wellbeing as it also makes you come back stronger and better. If you've ever experienced creative block, you will understand this better, whenever it happens to me, it is my cue to stop working and seek inspiration elsewhere.
What I consider as time wastage is involving oneself in unproductive habit or activity, such as gossip, why sit down to gossip about people or celebrities who are probably in a better place improving themselves while you remain the same, if you are not blogging about it and making money off gossip like Linda Ikeji, then you are indeed wasting your precious time.
In our world today, it is easy to get carried away with a lot of distractions as we are constantly being presented with social media reels, some games, etc, making it challenging to stay focused. However, by prioritizing our goals, taking intentional breaks, and avoiding unproductive habits, we can make the most of our time.
