Marriage is a very important institution that has far reaching importance and consequences that we cannot overlook. One's marriage can make or break them. It is a very important choice that we must be very careful when we get to that bridge of life.

Despite having physical expectations in a partner. It is equally important if not even more important to have values that we look out for. Values that will make the marriage stand strong and withstand the winds of change when they happen.

It is not enough to want a pretty, curvy lady that can cook or whatever. Also for the ladies, tall, dark and handsome is not enough. Even being rich is not enough.

I look out for kindness, not just to me but being kind generally is a green flag for me. Being considerate, understanding, patient, observant, proactive are all attractive attributes.
Being teachable and being a patient teacher is also good because I know that I don't know it all and will learn from her and vice versa.

These are just some of the things I look out for. I don't have a checklist which I tick but once the lady shows herself to be trustworthy, I know.
She doesn't have to possess all the qualities inorder to be a good fit. She may even possess other beautiful qualities which I did consider and that can compensate for any deficiency.

It's good to have an open mind because marriage is not an everyday activity. As much as possible, mistakes should be minimised both for the couple and for the children that will follow to live a healthy life of peace, progress and prosperity.

A wife that works would be nice especially given how the economy is these days but her work should not be as demanding as mine because the children need at least one parent to be as available as possible.
Also if the money is there, she could even stay at home if she wishes.

Understanding and communication is the foundation of a good marriage. Having them is always a bonus and ensures smooth sailing of a Marriage.
It is part of what I also look out for. Someone who listens and understands or makes deliberate efforts to understand.

In addition to all these, I also work on myself to be a great man for my wife and children. Because having a good wife is not enough, you need to also be a good man for it all to work else you will end up frustrating a good woman.

It's important that we make sure to be good partners, even as we are looking for a good partner.
If we all imbibe this, we would have longer lasting and more quality unions filled with love, growth and many positives.
