While growing up, I have seen loved ones being rushed to the hospital and thats when they are critically ill, that made me wonder why so many people were afraid of hospitals and checkups. Maybe its the fear that anytime you visit the hospital for checkups, doctors will definitely find some new problem with your health, and it creates worries for people, so they thought it better to not even visit at all, what they don't knownwomt harm them, but that's not true, the day it will show, it would have damage a lot things and also lead to too much expenses and stress.
My own experience was a wonderful one, and through it I got to know that the purpose of a medical check-up is not to burden you with extra problems but to alert you early so you can take good care of yourself before it becomes serious.
During my first visit, I saw a lot and fear gripped me, it was during my first visit also that I heard someone say that the discovery of new issues during a routine check-up was a sign to fear going to the hospital. I realized that finding out something unexpected is not bad, it is a chance to address potential risks while there is still enough time to.
When it comes to matters regarding health, I have learnt a whole lot, when they see health has shown someone shege(a lot) that's me, health issue has shown me shege(a lot). I have went under the blade several times, I have done series of test and all, I have experienced discomfort, I know what real pain is, so tell me, why would I joke with something as important as my health. So, am not the type who jokes with health issues or this checkup of a thing, I do rather know and address it quickly. I see regular check-ups as a form of respect for myself, my life, my health and those around me, a way to prevent the unforeseen and to face uncertainties with courage and information.
Infact, there are times that check-up may reveal nothing at all, and that can be a confirmation of good health. However, more often than not, the examinations discloses issues that are best addressed in their infancy. Even though its not easy, I still try to share little about my story with friends and neighbors, urging them not to fear a doctor’s discovery but to understand that knowing more about one’s health is the most important thing, cause when your health is faulty nothing else can work fine.
Truly, the mere thought of discovering a new health issue can be unsettling for many, and that is why some avoid check-ups. But, the benefits of early detection of a case far outweighs the discomforts that will later come with it when it has done its havoc on the body.
The body is a precious gift, so take good care of it, don't fear medical check-ups, but rather see them as an opportunity to take control of your health and prevent potential issues.
With this, even if it is small/little I am aiming to make a change and break down the stigma surrounding health issues while encouraging everyone to take quick steps towards their well-being, reason being that.... knowing about potential health issues early can make a significant difference in treatment and outcomes.
