The digital life continues to evolve with the consistent introduction of newer technology and gadgets.
These aren't just what the digital life brings; you also get to enjoy things around photography, music, communication, and much more. For instance, it was only a few years back when we were all excited about being able to hear the voice of our fellow brethren far away with the introduction of mobile phones.
Some years back I can remember my dad narrating to me about how he was sending a letter from Sokoto State to our village in Benue State just to inform them about his family welcoming a girl child; that child was actually me 😂. It took about 3 months before that letter arrived at its destination. Imagine if you had to wait that long to communicate with your fellow human beings far away. But with mobile phones now, distance is truly not a barrier; we can visibly see our loved ones much farther away, speak to them, and stay connected.
Cameras became much clearer over time, giving us very blurry pictures to extensively sharp images now. This luxury is what most people want to enjoy, thereby consistently upgrading their gadget to one of higher quality, as technology isn't stagnant and continues to present us with newer options.
While others run after cameras and other physical attributes, there are others still who have found more value in the use of these products as it relates to how fast, reliable, and functional the gadgets can be. Most times you purchase a gadget based on the function it can give.
What functions does your mobile phone or gadget do for you?
Anyone into Web3 would relate to how much you need fast and reliable gadgets. Fast in speed and network capacity, and sometimes with storage too.
You wouldn't want to spend an hour trying to bridge one token to another when that could be done in a few seconds with a quality gadget.
Time is of the essence, as they say that the value for money is measured in time. How much finance you generate per time and vice versa. How much are you willing to spend on gadgets and to what purpose? Having said all this, are you willing to spend so much to get a quality PC or mobile phone to serve the purpose you desire of it, or would you rather manage one slow gadget in the name of saving finances while wasting time?
For the first time I was purchasing a PC; I have no experience of what to look out for, and for the want of finances I was introduced to the cheapest PC you can ever purchase.
A PC that takes about 10 minutes to come up and several minutes to sign a contract. It took me only a few months to realize how unuseful this PC can be and how much time I would be wasting trying to work using it.
This has caused a limitation on all the goals I had towards entering deeper into the Web3 space and learning more about the crypto space and more.
Whatever it takes, I believe that it is good counsel to learn about what we are purchasing and prioritize value over price. We went out in search of a PC for a friend yesterday, and I realized just how much the price of a quality digital lifestyle can be. A quality and functional PC can go from as low as N400k to an amount in millions. While working around your budgets, you will be fair to yourself by going for a quality product once and for all. I learned this the hard way.
