A friend invited me into her home for a mini party with her circle of friends, and I dressed up to go share in her joy. As I walked into their estate, I was welcomed with many beautiful houses on every side. It was my first time visiting Mayfair Gardens, and I loved how nature surrounded the whole walkway. It was calming, and I felt as if I was under natural A.C.
Walking further down, I sighted this white-painted duplex, and I was like, Wow, that's a beautiful house. I wish I could own something like this.
.
One thing that got me captivated about the house was the white paint. I love a house that's all white, both inside and outside. I wouldn't say this particular duplex above is my dream house because I couldn't have access to the interior, but at least the outside was something close to my dream house. I love the idea of a small tree 🌲 planted in the compound of this house, somewhere people can sit under and receive a natural breeze, feeling refreshed in mind and in body, hehehe 😃. That's by the way about a time I walked past a beautiful house and complimented it. In fact, I had to take a shot in front of the duplex before heading to my friend's apartment. That's to tell you how much this house entered my eyes.
Now...onto my dream house.
I wouldn't say that I don't admire mansions, but for now, my dream house is a spacious duplex with modern touches. A lot of duplexes these days also have a touch of some features you can see in a mansion, and I am the type that loves something spacious down to my bathroom. A friend visited my home the other day and said, Nkem, this your bathroom is someone's bedroom here in Lagos, and we just laughed over it. So a duplex, painted all white both in and out, and then with nature planted around the compound to give a unique feeling upon entrance is my preference.
Take a look at the seat-out in the picture and imagine yourself seated there on a hot afternoon; you wouldn't even notice the hot weather because nature speaks all round the environment. That's the kind of thing I want for my dream house, also a swimming pool where the couples game will take place once in a while and where kids can splash water and feel alright.
I also prefer a spacious living room downstairs with simple and unique interior. If possible, a wine section by the side where I can entertain my visitors.
There's something that shouldn't be missed in my dream house, and that's a thinking room 💬 💬. This might sound weird, but it's something I had wanted all along. A room set aside upstairs, well-equipped and calming, where both I and the kids can walk in when needed and do a thorough reflection. A room devoid of noises and distractions around. This room is simply different from the reading room. You wouldn't even see a book in my thinking room but a comfy chair and maybe a small bed where you can think, think, think, and sleep off, dreaming about your thoughts and the way forward, hahaha.
My kitchen style will be simple and well-equipped with modern kitchen gadgets to help ease the stress associated with kitchen duties.
Then my bedroom...Awwwww, it should be something unique and romantic.
Not too much property in my room, but well designed and welcoming. I love the idea of having a flower 🌺 in my bedroom and a soothing light all around.
If wishes were horses, indeed. I was lost in fantasy about my dream house, but it should have these features capable of making the house a welcoming home.
