I welcome you to my blog. There are different types of energy, but how we put them to use is what matters and what makes them useful, as if we fail to harness this energy, they will just be there and end up wasted. Solar energy is one of those energies that, if we fail to harness, will just waste. Solar energy is a renewable source of energy; that is to say, it replenishes very fast and does not need a lot of time to recuperate, which makes it one of the best energy sources. It is still new, and man is still looking for ways to harness this energy to see its full power.
Humans are indeed insatiable, which is why technology has to keep advancing and improving just to satisfy their needs. We have had different energy types at our disposal but still were not satisfied or had a problem with it, and now the new treasure, which is solar energy, is our new focus and the future of energy sources. A renewable source of energy that does not deplete like other sources of energy we have, which makes it more reliable and more dependable as its tendency to fail is very low.
The energy from the sun is one of the most abundant energies we have on planet Earth, and harnessing this power to its full potential will only bring about more development and growth. Sooner rather than later in countries like mine, where our power supply companies fail to do what they are paid for, will be kicked out of the market because slowly people are adopting and accepting solar energy for the treasure it is.
Whether we like it or not, the sun is going to shine; failure to harness this power simply means the power is going to waste, so simply harnessing the solar energy means utilizing this sun energy reaching the earth (trapping the sun energy reaching the face of the earth and putting it to good use like electricity) instead of letting it waste because whether we utilize or use this power or not, it will be there. The methods by which the sun energy reaching the face of the earth can be utilized or harnessed include:
Photovoltaic Cells or Systems: These cells or systems absorb the sun's energy and convert the energy into electricity. A typical example of such is our solar panels.
Solar thermal systems: These systems absorb sun energy and convert it into thermal energy (heat energy); here, the sun energy is used to heat water or air for different purposes.
Solar dryers: Here the energy of the sun is used in the drying and preservation of food; it removes or reduces water content, thereby preventing the growth of pathogens and other microorganisms that can cause food spoilage.
There are so many other ways by which the sun energy reaching the earth can be utilized and put to great use. The sun is always going to shine; it is up to us to harness its energy and use it to satisfy our needs. Slowly but definitely everyone is going to see solar energy for the treasure it is.
