The world is evolving at a pace that we do not imagine. I had never considered that I would see automation come to me actually one day but the day was delivered earlier than I thought. I was a stable worker, I was good at my job and I was proud of this job. The source of income was not the only thing but rather what I was. However, when machines and software became smarter, gradually management replaced the works that I formerly did. In one morning I was informed that my job was redundant. I was shocked in the beginning. How was it possible to substitute years of experiences with a machine? I was dealt as transparent, unknown, and did not know what to expect next. It was not only the matter of having a job. It was a matter of loss of routine, security and self confidence. I experienced several days of frustrations and uncertainties, wondering whether I deserve it.
However gradually I saw things in a different way. The world was not about to retrogress and it was not going to be resolved by rebelling against any change. I understood that I should change and acquire new knowledge, that I should find a way of how I could be useful in the world of technology. That is when I started to learn about online courses, digital tools and the possibilities of freelance. It was tough to lose my job via software devouring it seemed to open my eyes. It was a lessons show that learning never ceases and we all require to be adaptable. I used to miss the old days as well, but now I am optimistic. It may also be tough, but this path has equipped me with knowledge and experience because I am much more ready about the future.
