Procrastination has really been affecting my life alot in so many ways, when l have work to do most especially school assignments l keep postponing it thinking l have time until when the deadline comes l will start doing the assignment in hurry most times l don't even get to finish it before l submit at the end of the day. For me a day is enough to accomplish my daily activities that is if l start very early l am good to go, sometimes even if the day is not enough l usually carry the incomplete work to the next day.
It wasn't really easy for me to stop procrastinating and learn how to utilize my time appropriately, it took me months of choking myself with work most especially on deadline. The loss of time as an effect of procrastination is the easiest way to identify since the act of avoiding a task comes down to not using time wisely. Honestly Procrastination can be thought of using the time you have to complete a task in ways that do not accomplish what needs to be done, procrastinating can lead to stress, anxiety and low performance you will likely run out of time and your work might look incomplete your work will be hurried, which will create stress. After my daily schedule l usually take a short nap it gives me enough energy to do some minor house chores when l wake up, sleeping is more of like a medicine to my body but most times l like reading books to warm up my head up.
Getting distracted, longs to keep focused and complete one task before you move onto the next, so avoid distractions by putting your phone out of sight. Excessive worrying, is such a passive thing l'm not saying you should never be worried or maybe concerned about something but your natural response shouldn't be obsessively worrying it's just a waste of time to me honestly.
A lesson l would love to give to everybody is if you begin to think about procrastinating, force yourself to spend a few minutes working on your task, eliminate distraction ask yourself what pulls your attention away the most, whether it's instagram, facebook update or the local news turn off those sources of distraction it will really help alot.
