"What's the purpose of life if at the end we will die? Why hustle? Why try?"
This question looks simple, but the answer is a very controversial one.
Everyone on this earth wakes up every day and goes about a routine with the sole aim of living life. Even those who don’t work still have something they do or have in mind on a daily basis, and when it happens or gets done, the day becomes a fulfilled one. So, does this mean this is what life is all about? This is a deep question because when we navigate to the religious aspect, we are taught to believe that man’s purpose in life is spiritually inclined, and everything we face on this planet is a result of what we are made to do or become in life. So the sufferings, the betrayal, the merriment, the struggles, everything boils down to man’s purpose in life.
I wrote something similar to this months ago, and I gave an illustration about a man who resigned from his well-paying job to serve God. It didn’t happen smoothly, he lost one of his daughters in the process of denying the signs of his calling. The man, whenever he’s teaching about the purpose of life, always makes reference to the experiences he had before he decided to submit to God’s calling, which, according to him, shows that man’s purpose on earth is centered on pleasing God.
Coming out truthfully, if you ask me about one’s purpose in life, my definition will revolve around this religious aspect. Purpose is what makes a man go about his daily work and other human duties just to make sure the purpose is fulfilled in life. It doesn’t happen in one day, fulfilling one’s purpose takes steps, and it’s much easier when one already knows the purpose and begins to work towards it.
Thanks!
