Crypto Voodoo Chicken AI action continues
Why did the chicken cross the road?... To escape IBT island! Since we have finished the testing of AI and will be introducing DLC addon packs in the future (of weird and strange characters), we decided to test different types of skeletal meshes and animations.
Animation tests are really important since we will be adding actions to our characters like picking fruit or chopping wood or even picking up dropped items. So whats better than testing animation from a chickens point of view? At first it was kind of weird but after some tweaking we managed to have control of a chicken as a fully controllable character! Naturally, chickens have predators so during the second test we checked to see if the AI attacks our poultry and it did. So if the chicken comes across another NPC, there is a chance it may get eaten or even possibly run away.
Saving Stuff is hard
Yes finally the day/night cycle can now be saved!
Anyone who has played previous demos of IBT Island will know the Day/Night, Time, Month cycle cannot be saved.
Thanks to some extreme hair pulling and constant frustration we have devised a way of doing it. The only issue from this point still is storing the months but fixing that is just around the corner.
