X Marks the Spot – A Tribute to Malcolm X

This piece was born from deep respect and inspiration. Malcolm X has always stood out to me as someone who didn’t just survive hardship, but transformed it into purpose and power.

As I worked on this illustration, I dove into his early life. The loss of his father, the separation from his family, and the heavy weight of systemic injustice could have broken anyone. But Malcolm turned prison into a place of transformation. He devoured books, expanded his mind, and laid the groundwork for the powerful voice he would become.

This artwork is my way of honoring that journey—his resilience, his courage, and his relentless pursuit of justice. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest corners, we hold the power to reshape our lives.
