Hi Everyone,
In Part 1, I provided a brief discussion on how UK society has become more divided over the past decade. In Part 2, I explore different viewpoints. I consider the anger of British citizens who are deeply concerned about high levels of immigration and the impact it is having on British culture. I explore the perspective of immigrants, who are mostly just attempting to make a better life for themselves. I even consider the perspective of the brainwashed woke.
Empathy can put us on the path to bridging the divide in society. Empathy is more than just walking in someone’s shoes. It involves living in someone’s mind. You need to see the world as another person sees it. You need to understand someone else’s priorities and values. It is incredibly difficult to do. However, even some success in understanding another’s worldview will play a significant role in closing the giant chasm in society.
Who Were the Rioters?
During the first week of August 2024, there were dozens of protests across the UK. The protests were fundamentally about mass and illegal immigration. Riots broke out at many of the protests. Many of the rioters wore black balaclavas (The Guardian) and often black clothing to match. Based on circulating videos, it appeared they began much of the violence. This often enticed other non-masked people to join in.
Who were these people, and what were their motives? Could these relatively small groups of people be the far right that the mainstream media keep talking about? We do not know their ideology or even their motivations for their presence. It is highly unlikely that a far right mob would emerge from nowhere. It is unlikely they would join these protests when they could have caused a far greater impact at the weekly anti-Israel protests.
The rioters managed to discredit the true intentions of the vast majority of the protestors. Media attention was almost entirely focused on the violence and disorder. The protests, which were now labelled as just riots, were widely described as being motivated by far right ideology and racism. The real motivations for the protests have not only been lost but completely skewed towards far more negative narratives. This was most likely the motivation for the riots.
The riots were organised. The masked culprits came prepared to riot. They had no intention to protest. We cannot conclude who they are or who organised them. However, we can discuss the genuine concerns of the people who protested, the people who had no intention of causing any violence. They were still the majority of the attendees.
Genuine Concern Regarding the Rise in Immigration
Since Brexit, immigration has continued to increase. This is the opposite of what many who voted for Brexit would have hoped. On top of this increased immigration, there has also been a huge surge in the number of people illegally crossing the English Channel in boats. See Figure 1 for changes in immigration and net migration, and Figure 2 for changes in illegal migration through boat crossings across the English Channel.

Most of those illegally entering the country on these boats are male (85% male according to the BBC and 87% according to Migration Watch Uk), and most of them are under the age of 35. Most of those crossing illegally claim to be asylum seekers (over 90% claimed asylum (UK Home Office)). According to the European Council Asylum Information Database, 72% of all seeking asylum in the UK are male. The rest of Europe is following the same pattern. Some countries, such as Italy, have an even higher percentage of males claiming asylum (84% (European Council Asylum Information Database)).
The number of refugees worldwide increases every year. Over the past 10 years, the number of refugees worldwide has doubled. See Figure 3 below.

According to UNHCR, approximately half of refugees are male. See Figure 4 below.

Why is there such a large disparity between the percentage of male asylum seekers in Europe and the percentage of male refugees?
There are no reasonable explanations as to why the asylum path into Europe might be so heavily favoured by males. For example, over 70% of Syrians seeking asylum in Europe are male (Daily Caller). However, about 75% of Syrian refugees are women (Politico).
A likely reason why such a high percentage of males are seeking asylum is because they would not be approved through official channels. Therefore, they believe they have a better chance of claiming asylum directly in a country. The high approval rates are an indication that this is likely to be the case. Asylum seekers from countries with predominantly Muslim populations, such as Sudan, Syria, and Afghanistan, have over a 98% chance of being accepted in the UK. Even those whose asylum attempts have failed are allowed to stay and appeal. Around half of all appeals are accepted (European Council Asylum Information Database).
Most of the men claiming asylum are from countries where there are ongoing conflicts, terrorism, and even genocide. However, if they are freely allowed to enter the UK prior to background checks, we do not know whether these men are escaping the conflict, terrorism, or genocide or if they are the ones perpetrating it. A recent example are the stabbings at the ‘Festival of Diversity’ in Solingen, Germany, where three people were killed and eight others injured. The stabbings were claimed by ISIS, and the alleged perpetrator was a Syrian asylum seeker (Kronen Zeitung).
The increasing number of asylum seekers comes at a high cost. Every year, this cost increases. Figure 5 shows the increase in costs from 2019/20 to 2023/24.

The UK Government has done little to reduce the number of asylum seekers and illegal entries into the UK. The Government attempted to send illegal immigrants to Rwanda. This stalled many times. Eventually, it was scrapped once the Labour Party took power. No attempt has been made to send those crossing illegally by boat back to France (a safe country). The unwillingness to deter the crossing has not only hurt the citizens of the UK, it has resulted in the loss of life for those attempting to make these dangerous crossings.
It is not only Governments that welcome asylum seekers. NGOs strongly support people’s ‘right’ to claim asylum in countries (Amnesty International). This is despite the dangers involved in reaching these countries. Seeking asylum often involves crossing bodies of water in unreliable and inappropriate vessels or hiding in trucks that pose various dangers, such as possible suffocation. The actions of the NGOs encourage people to make dangerous journeys based on the promise of being helped or the opportunity for a better life. This does not just encourage genuine asylum seekers. It encourages anyone who wants a better life in a wealthy western country.
I think we can safely conclude that Governments and NGOs do not genuinely care about people who are genuinely trying to seek refuge. If they did care, they would focus on safe methods of bringing them to safe destinations. For example, it has been done for those seeking safety from the war in Ukraine.
Legal migration can help reduce employment shortages. Rising sickness in the UK has caused significant shortages. This is for both the jobs people can no longer do and in healthcare to look after the increasing number of sick people. However, how many of these legal migrants are actually contributing to solving this problem? Figure 6 contains the reasons for migrating to the UK for immigrants from various parts of the world.

Statistics indicate that immigrants from the EU more actively contribute to employment than immigrants from outside the EU. Only 12% of immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa came to the UK to gain employment. Other activities are almost three times higher. Migrant families are more likely to use major welfare programs than native-born UK citizens. According to the Centre for Immigaration, 49% of migrant families use at least one major welfare program. Whereas only 32% of native households do.
Grievances Towards Migrants Who Do Not Integrate into British Society
The UK has experienced mass immigration for many decades. Now, it has stepped into overdrive. A huge problem with mass immigration is that migrants do not need to integrate into British society and culture. Migrants can quickly congregate to form their own areas and spaces. Some parts of some cities have become completely dominated by a particular ethnic group. Migrants often find comfort by living in communities of the same culture or religion. This is not their fault. They do so because they can.
Slower, more gradual migration forces migrants to become more immersed in the native culture. Ideally, people should be moving to the UK because they want to become part of the UK. People should be migrating for the opportunities the country offers. They should not be migrating because of the handouts provided by the Government. Combining socialism and open borders in a world with wide wealth disparity will inevitably lead to complete disaster for any relatively wealthy country.
Culture can both unite and divide people. It unites people within the same culture but divides them from people of other cultures. This can be solved if a broader culture runs throughout all cultures within a country. Singapore is a good example of a successful multicultural country. Different cultures can exist in harmony because there is an overarching Singaporean culture that is respected by all other cultures. This is currently not the case in the UK.
There is an overarching culture in the UK. This is shared by natives of all four countries in the UK. This culture revolves around western liberal values such as freedom, democracy, tolerance, and pluralism. British people are proud of this culture and what they have achieved as a nation. Therefore, we can argue that patriotism is also an important part of British culture. British people are welcoming to immigrants. This was, and still is for some, a key reason to come and stay in the United Kingdom. A liberal culture greatly enables immigrants to fit in.
The greatest gift a nation can offer an immigrant is opportunity. Free market capitalism, meritocracy, and blindness to colour, race, and ethnicity enable immigrants to fairly compete based on what they have to offer to society.
Another reason why people want to migrate to the UK is the language. English is the most widely spoken language around the world. According to Visual Captilist , around 1.5 billion people speak the English language. Knowing English greatly enables immigrants to fit in quickly.
Based on language and values, integration should be inevitable, but it is not. Mass immigration of people that do not come from cultures that share similar western liberal values or predominantly speak English leads to people forming communities that share their own cultures and languages. It is logical for these people to do so. They do not need to leave their comfort zone, adapt to a different culture, or even become proficient in English.
These communities reinforce their beliefs, thus separates them even further from British liberal culture. Differences can become so great that they cannot be reconciled. This tends to lead to increased tensions between different cultures. This could be between migrant cultures and British culture or even between different migrant cultures.
The formation of migrant communities also leads to increased poverty as the people in these communities are deprived of opportunities they would have had had they integrated more successfully. In the case of British Pakistanis, lack of integration is a likely driver of inbreeding. More than half of British Pakistanis wed their cousins (first or second). This has led to a disproportionate number of birth defects in their children (Eastern Eye).
The combination of tensions between cultures, higher poverty, and even genetic defects from inbreeding contributes to higher crime in migrant-dominated communities. This seems particularly true for communities that have a high percentage of Pakistani Muslims. According to several surveys, around 40% to 50% of UK Muslims are of Pakistani heritage (Wikipedia). Pakistan is also the third highest place of origin for migrants to the UK (Migration Observatory).
The UK has three of the top five most dangerous cities in Europe. These are Bradford, Coventry, and Birmingham (Numbeo). Table 1 contains the Crime Index and Muslim and Christian populations for the most dangerous cities in the UK.

In the absence of precise detail about culture, religion has been used to distinguish between cultures. Culture and religion are often linked. This is especially true for Islam. Cities with high crime rates tend to have populations with a higher percentage of Muslims.
Muslims tend to be associated with some of the worst crimes in the UK. A good example of this were the grooming gangs in Rochdale and Rotherham. Thousands of children, mostly native British girls, have been sexually assaulted by mostly Pakistani grooming gangs (Independent).
This problem was compounded by police and Government inaction. Victims were often ignored, and alleged perpetrators were very rarely convicted (GB News). This is further obvious evidence that police and the UK justice system do not respond to all communities, religions, and ethnicities in the same way. Rochdale and Rotherham were not outliers. Research (e.g., ResearchGate paper by Bhatti-Sinclair and Sutcliffe and Quilliam’s Foundation’s 2017 Report) indicates that, in general, members of grooming gangs are disproportionately male Pakistani Muslims.
The differences in culture are evident based on responses in surveys. A 2016 survey indicated that 40% of UK Muslims support some form of implementation of Sharia Law (Telegraph). See Figure 7 below.

According to Pew Research 84% of Muslims in Pakistan support Sharia Law. This is relevant considering Pakistanis make up a large percentage of UK Muslims.
Sharia law is in direct contrast to liberal western values. We could argue that it is ultra conservative. The majority of the most conservative countries (World Population Review) are predominantly Muslim and have Sharia Law (World Population Review).
Sharia Law could result in:
- the banning of homosexuality
- greatly reduced rights for women (e.g., dress code, loss of freedom of movement, reduced access to education, etc.)
- legalising of child marriages (e.g., Iraq proposing to reduce marriage age to 8 (Standard)
- barbaric punishments for certain crimes (e.g., amputations and stoning)
- strict dress codes
- strict blasphemy laws
- greatly reduced free speech and expression
- banning of alcohol consumption
- and many others that are subject to interpretation by ‘scholars’
According to another 2016 survey, more than 50% of UK Muslims believe that homosexuality should be illegal and two fifths believe that women should always obey their husbands (Independent and Daily Mail).
The most startling differences between the general British population and Muslim ones are views regarding the war in Israel. See Figure 8 for opinions regarding the war and Figure 9 regarding attitudes towards various terrorist groups and Israel.

UK Muslims net positive opinion of Hamas is the most striking and the most concerning for non-Muslim UK citizens. It is also concerning that opinions around other terrorist groups are only marginally negative. It is an indication that a significant portion of UK Muslims believe terrorism, to a certain extent, is acceptable under certain circumstances. The survey indicates UK Muslims have a hatred towards Israel. This could translate into animosity and even violence towards UK Jews.
UK Muslims overwhelming believe that Jews have too much power and influence in certain areas such as government policy, financial system, and media. See Figure 10 regarding these opinions.

UK Muslims opinions about Israel and Jews are relevant considering that Israel shares many of the UK’s western liberal values and culture. Jews tend to integrate well into UK culture.
The Muslim community’s anger and hatred towards Israel could easily be directed towards non-Muslim UK citizens, if they perceive them to be pro-Israel. The people that are falsely labelled as far right are often associated with being pro-Israel. The actual far right are ultranationalist supremacists. They hate anyone foreign or of a different race. Their ideology is adjacent to Fascism, though it has different origins. If Muslims believe the disinformation, misinformation, and conspiracy theories about far right organisations and movements, it could easily spark a violent reaction.
Those who invented this disinformation did so with the intention of inciting violence and hatred. Mainstream media and thousands of others blindly spread this misinformation across the country. The best example of this was the disinformation about the hundred riots that did not happen (Independent). Much of this disinformation has been exposed on X. This helped calm some of the anger and hatred. However, X still uses its algorithms to regulate, which information and users gain the most exposure. In this case, it was deemed in their best interest to enable the exposure of certain lies.
There is great fear that the UK will inevitably become a Muslim state. Mass immigration of Muslims into the UK is one reason why this may occur (Remix News). This might not be the main reason. UK birth rates have dropped incredibly low, and well below the replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman. It is likely with increasing turmoil that British natives will flee the country. More British people are gradually converting to Islam (Indepepndent). It is possible that Islam is filling a void in faith that was formerly filled with Christianity. In 2011, 59% of the UK population were Christians. In 2021, this dropped to just 46% (ONS).
Another major concern is the added pressure on resources from a rapidly increasing population. This can lead to shortages and higher prices. For example, the National Health Service (NHS) is struggling to handle the number of sick people. House prices have consistently trended upward. These concerns are heightened by the ongoing health and cost of living crisis. I would argue that the increasing population from immigration does not have a huge impact on health or prices. It is easy for people to have this perception, as it can be argued that increased demand causes these problems. However, they might be less aware of the extent this increased demand contributes to them. Reform UK used this as an argument for reducing immigration in their election campaign (Reform UK). It is a good method for pushing an agenda while covering up much bigger problems.
It’s Tough Being a Migrant
There are many reasons why people migrate to another country. We can normally break them down into push and pull factors. The push factors might include:
- Poverty
- Political and economic instability
- War
- Natural disasters
- Disease
- Persecution
- General dissatisfaction from living in the country
The pull factors might include:
- Opportunity (jobs, business, or education)
- Low tax
- Freedom of expression
- Political and economic stability
- Common language
- Desirable culture
- Favourable climate
- Join other migrated family members
Migration based on pull factors is more desirable than migration based on push factors. If the pull factors are the main reason for migration, people are coming to a country because they believe it to be desirable. They will want to fit in and excel. This is beneficial to both them and the country. I discuss my opinions about migration in my post, Free movement of people.
Governments are creating their own pull factors, which are funded by taxpayer money. These include benefit schemes for immigrants and illegal immigrants. These include temporary accommodation, welfare payments, and schemes to bring in other family members. These benefit schemes are so attractive that it appears that migrants, particularly illegal ones, are prioritised above the country’s citizens.
The Government’s attempts to attract illegal immigrants have made the UK more attractive to foreign criminals. It is easier for them to access the UK and then to disappear into their established communities. They have also increased the profitability for people smugglers. The UK’s soft and ineffective approach to preventing and stopping crime further encourages migrant criminals to commit crime. These criminals are likely to encourage other migrants in their community to commit crime as well. It is an easier way to a better life. It is the fault of Government policy; the criminals are just opportunistic.
Migration based on push factors is often bad. People are or feel forced to leave. Their destination might not be what they want, but what is available. They would have preferred to remain where they were, but under better circumstances. This could be a reason why people who migrate because of push factors are less likely to want to integrate into the society they have joined.
Push factors are symptoms of other problems. Some of these problems occur organically within a country, but many are caused by foreign powers and multinational companies. Below are several examples of how push factors are caused by foreign interference.
- Colour revolutions caused by NGOs influencing internal politics and citizens perceptions. This often leads to civil unrest and sometimes civil wars.
- US, UN, or EU sanctions increase poverty through shortages of essential goods.
- High unemployment caused by lack of business opportunities. Many local businesses are forced out by larger, richer multinational companies.
- Labour exploitation by multinational companies who benefit from limited labour laws and high unemployment, which forces labour costs down.
- Lack of investment and infrastructure (e.g., roads, power plants, and irrigation infrastructure) caused by multinational companies that are only interested in extracting resources with little or no regard for the country’s growth.
- Poor healthcare and sanitation services and facilities are caused by various factors, such as sanctions and a lack of funds for investment.
- Prejudice based discrimination based on cultural, ethnic, and sometimes racial differences. This is made worse by intentional division stoked by foreign powers, who stand to benefit from internal conflict.
- Corrupt leaders that sacrifice the welfare of their country for their own benefit. Foreign governments and multinational companies often support these leaders, as bribing them is less costly than paying a fair price for the resources they extract.
In my post, Exploitation of the Poorest Countries, I discuss the reasons why some of the poorest countries remain poor and how other large countries such as China, India, and western countries contribute to it. In my post, What if we could establish a new system of governance that worked but it is not accepted internationally?, I discuss western induced colour revolutions and military presence in countries that western countries deem unfriendly.
Most migrants are in search of a better life. Illegal immigrants often risk their lives to escape circumstances that they consider unacceptable, even if they do not reach the threshold to be granted refugee status. It is unlikely that their intention is to cause problems for the citizens of the host countries. The problems come from lack of integration. This leads to a ‘them vs. us’ attitude on both sides. Both sides feel increasingly threatened. This will eventually lead to violence, as we have seen with the recent riots.
The Woke
I have briefly discussed aspects of woke ideology in several of my posts. I cover it in detail in my post, Rise of the Woke. It is important to read this post to understand the context of this section.
I would argue that wokeism is one of the most dangerous ideologies in the world. It is the exact opposite of everything it claims to be. The vast majority of people indoctrinated into this ideology believe that it is virtuous. Hence, they act strongly to promote it and its agenda because they honestly believe they are doing the right thing. Most people have a basic moral compass. They might do bad things, but there is a limit to the harm they will do because there are lines they will not cross. However, for the woke, their moral compass does not restrict them. Their moral compass is not even activated because they do not even comprehend the harm they are causing. This makes them as dangerous as psychopaths.
How is this even possible? Western liberal values have existed for a long time. They are a well-established part of western society. They have endured for so long that they are now considered western conservative values rather than liberal values. Liberalism should not be about opposing something because it has existed for a long time. There should be a continuous evolution of thought. All ideas should be challenged, but not necessarily rejected. That is how people and society progress. However, self-proclaimed liberals focus more on change than progress. There is an assumption that change automatically leads to progress.
The education system does not adequately encourage critical thinking. Instead, it encourages learning of prescribed content that aligns with ideology that the Establishment wants to promote. For example, this might include critical race theory or gender ideology. Problems are framed in a manner so that they can be addressed by the prescribed solution.
For example, the following thought process might exist for some woke people.
Income inequality is caused by racism. Therefore, racism should be targeted. If racism is not apparent, it is therefore systemic racism. To reduce systemic racism, there needs to be equality. All people are equal. Equality can be observed if there are equal outcomes. Equal outcomes can be achieved through socialism. Therefore, socialism is good. People who oppose socialism are bad. They do want equal outcomes because they are racist. Racist people are very bad. Bad people cannot be reasoned with. Therefore, they must be forced not to be racist and accept socialist values. This leads to support for authoritarianism.
We could create a similar train of thought about mass immigration.
Immigrants have contributed to society. They have grown our economy and enriched our culture. Therefore, immigration is good for society. Some immigrants come from poor countries. They can benefit from migrating. Immigration is mutually beneficial to the host country and the immigrants. It is a great win-win scenario. Open borders are great because they make migration easy. Some people oppose open borders even though it is greatly beneficial to them. They must be far right, racist, and hate all immigrants. They have no right to spread their hate. They must be silenced. This can be achieved through censorship. This leads to support for more authoritarianism.
Similar trains of thought can be constructed for gender, vaccines/jabs, abortion, political correctness, and climate change. The train of thought will normally end with them supporting more power for authority. This power filters through the national and global Establishments. This ultimately leads to the concentration of both power and wealth to the few. The end product is likely to be a Globalist Plutocratic Socialist country and eventually world. Socialism will keep the majority poor, while the elite will permanently separate themselves from the rest. The ultimate two-tiered world.
How do you reason with someone who knows they are right? It is not likely to be possible. Any form of opposition is likely to be treated as ignorance or even malevolence. The most likely way they can be helped is through life experience. They need to understand how nuanced everything is. It is not possible to be fully knowledgeable about anything. It is important for them to understand that life is a continuous learning experience. All we can do is enable them to have these important life experiences.
Can the Divide Be Breached?
People respond to symptoms rather than problems. This is because we experience the symptoms, the problems are often deeper and harder to identify. The symptoms that all sides are experiencing lead to back one source, that is the Establishment.
Western foreign policy has destabilised many countries in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Multinational companies have become the main employers in countries; they help keep the people impoverished. Financial institutions (e.g., IMF) keep third world countries trapped in poverty with the loan conditions that they force on them (Biglaiser and McGauvran).
Governments welcome asylum seekers through lavish handouts, while NGOs promote seeking asylum over applying for refugee status. Governments’ approach to Covid-19 has caused a health crisis and reduced workforce. Businesses have responded by hiring immigrants to replace them. UK churches have profited from migrants by supporting fake conversions to Christianity (GB News).
Government agencies, NGOs, and activist groups have actively promoted woke ideology to children and young people in schools and universities. The mainstream media and entertainment industries actively promote false virtues of woke ideology to the masses.
The common denominator for all of the above is the Establishment (Government, Big Business, Religion, Media, and Banks). Attention should be placed on them and not each other.
My New Book, Sapien Loop
I have published an ebook on Amazon; it is titled ‘Sapien Loop: End of an Era’. The book is fiction. I do not normally write fiction. However, I felt it was appropriate considering what is happening in the world today. Freedom is the most important thing we have, but we are gradually losing it. I have covered this in many of my posts.
In the story, most citizens do not understand the concept of freedom because they have never really experienced it. In essence, the story is about an alien world that might represent our not-so-distant future. There are many other elements to the story that are an abstract and exaggerated version of our reality. I believe this book to be an important read, and I believe it has the potential to change the way you think.
Brief Summary of Sapien Lopp
This story is based on the fictional planet Sapia and its sole country, Sapey. Sapey is portrayed as a form of utopia for all its citizens. No poverty. No war. Almost no crime. Opportunities for all.
This was enough for most citizens, but not all. In one of the small regions, some of the citizens had become discontent. They felt something important was missing in their lives. Their discontent did not go unnoticed. Some of the Sapey elite wanted to weaponise this discontent to gain more power. This created more chaos than they anticipated. This led to further widespread social unrest.
On top of the chaos, ambition and greed provoked another enemy. This enemy was on a mission to settle both new and old scores.
