Hello, I have just finished the two graphic designs useful for participating in the contest launched by SPK Network. You can find more by following the link to the SPK account POST here on Hive. The deadline is today, I hope I still have time.
For the contest, I have two proposals, the first for the BROCA token, the second for the LARYNX Miner Token. Once the creation process is finished, I took screenshots that summarize the basic steps and which I will illustrate below.
BROCA Token entry
The first logo I created is the one for the BROCA Token, a token that is described as an access method to act on the Network chain, which will be used to pay a fee aimed at avoiding spam. A function similar to the GAS of the Ethereum network.
I didn't have a particular idea, so I decided to use the letter B along with a fairly simple pattern and background. I first used a very thorough open-source bold font and reshaped the shapes after breaking them down into vectors.
Then I created a kind of shading that gave the B a bit more "solid" look.
I then looked for the first background, a simple aggregate of equilateral rhombus outlines.
I placed the B on the rhomboid figure and then decided to create a shape broken down into many triangles with extremely different shape outlines. I used that figure to break down the main B - the lighter gray one - into many small triangles.
As you saw in the figure above, I gave each portion of the B a different hue, trying to go from a darker red to a lighter one by moving from one end to the other.
I then brought the whole colored pattern back to the gray main B letter. It took some time to reshape even the contours that often let the gray underneath show through. In the image, you can also see a small identification of the token name.
To finish, I changed the position of the token name, moving it diagonally down to your left. Then I created two variants, one with a circular background (more useful as an icon) and the other with a quadrangular background, that in vector format can be adapted to any banner size. I also created a temporary variant in a single color.
The result is one of those seen in the previous image. The colors are truly random and used for illustrative purposes. They can all be changed to your liking without making changes to the main structure of the graphics.
LARYNX Miner Token
For the Larynx token I used less "lively" colors, but the tones are not very different. The basic idea is to recreate the project in a completely different guise according to personal tastes in terms of colors. But let's get down to business.
I also used a font in this case: the idea was to create a logo containing the letters of the token, Larynx. Once this was done, I created a copy with more protruding edges, placed exactly above the previous one (a more “slim” version).
Why this? I did it to subtract one figure from the other and to obtain an inscription made up of only outlines and an empty interior. Look at the image to understand what I am talking about.
At this point, the "casual" touch: I decided to arrange the letters as if mirrored on a horizontal plane, while maintaining a sequence by moving towards your right.
And I also made sure that each letter touches the next in the sequence: so L touches the A mirrored downwards, then the A touches the R mirrored upwards, and so on. Lastly, I created an empty internal path in which each letter naturally continues with the next letter.
Again I created a background, taking inspiration from the photo of the laryngeal area, where there are two semicircular contours and a passage area similar to a small hole. The figure that emerged is very abstract, but I decided to leave it as it was.
I then positioned the portion with the reworked writing inside the circular figure useful as a first background. To finish the graphic, I added a summary of the token name.
And then I'm done: I created two variants, one with a quadrangular shaped background, one that is a variant of the previous one but in a single color. You can see the final result in the image below.
THE END
These are my proposals. I hope you enjoyed the creation process. I realize that the work is not extremely creative and this type of pattern is quite common. In the absence of more brilliant ideas, I still wanted to try. That said: hello and see you next time here on Hive.
