Cold hard facts from data
It’s going to be about a month since I started experimenting with tracking my hive content, time and even my finances religiously. This experiment was quite fun to do and opens up a cold hard fact for improvement. Perhaps you can learn from my findings and learn from the lesson especially when it comes to Hive content.

When it comes to hive, I have a spreadsheet where I document everything single content that I am producing and how much they’re earning from it. There’s one thing I learned from it which resonates with the common data circulating around, where your content length somehow matters. When I was looking into my movies content that does fairly well, a lot of them are always above 700 words to 1263 words and they earn a lot more than the 200-300 words content. However there are communities where word length doesn’t matter and this is where it gets interesting. Communities with a lot more subscribers are usually the place where you can do the content length ratio in getting more rewards. But the one with less subscribers is definitely relying on luck.
At the same time, I was also tracking my engagement where sometimes I don’t even get a reply back. It’s certainly not a problem to me but it’s interesting. When I increased my engagement a lot more, I became aware of newer communities and interesting stuff. Sometimes you also realize how over rewarded things can be around here or sometimes, people keep shoving the idea of “engagement” while the ones that get rewarded are those who barely engage or even null. So, is engagement game still relevant on hive? Maybe. At least when we look at its social perspective, you gain new friends and maybe followers.
I also started experimenting with HBD savings and I find that to be intriguing. It works like a bank but even better. For those of you who can’t save up, HBD offers an alternative. You surely need to wait 3 days before withdrawing but to be honest, it’s better than saving up at a bank with lower yield. I managed to save up quite a bit and am planning on continuing the good habit of saving up. It would be a lot nicer if holding your HP offers good incentives as well.
Simultaneously as I get more active in engagement, curating and also producing content, I get more active with manual voting. It’s way better to manually curate and good for your HP in the long run. Last I checked, my curation APR is 38%. It really is not that bad getting that number up.

When it comes to time, I’ve been bad about it as I started to socialize a lot more. But the other day, I was simply stopping it and going back into the loop while prepping for another month’s list and new experiment. In the whole month, I have about 9 breaks which isn’t a good look. Considering most people take 8 to 10 breaks a month. I don’t want to be like most people, so that number has to be lower as well. At the same time, it also messes up with my content scheduling and other responsibilities that I have to do.

As I grow older, I realize the importance of priorities and also the need to make sure that I have enough to feed my family. In the end, even with some privileges I have, I still belong to the sandwich generation where not only I have to care about myself but also for my parents and my grandparents. So, goofing around and spending a lot more outside, aren’t something I can afford right now.
But since I became a lot more conservative with my time and resources, I feel a lot happier and satisfied. I also find ways to still eat decently without having to eat noodles everyday or something like that. I also resorted to cooking on my own just like what I wrote earlier Improving Nutrition Intake. I still do the workout and follow my plans. Somehow, with the extra time I am having, I get to study a lot more and hopefully get my way into a programming job very soon.
At the same time, lately I am introducing a vlog style content and since they generally take time to process, much like coffee posts, they’d be sparsely uploaded. Except for the last few days, I was just so eager to get them out.
Another thing I realized is that being in crypto space and CT could make you feel a lot less grateful and bitter. I am seeing people who think $3000 is just a chump change and people calling each other poor. Constantly seeing that made me unaware that out there, that’s a lot of money. But once I disconnect with the space, there’s just a lot more gratitude that I have towards my life. However, one thing though, it’s valid to hustle and even make more. I don’t think anybody should be shamed for trying to better their lives and even attempting to make more.
That’s all for this month, we will see some of them next month and hope you’re still following my journey!
