For most of 2022, and over the last 6 months especially, i've been looking at various apps that allow me to earn some form of (preferably)passive income from the things i already do on a day to day basis.
And there are a whole lot of them! Many of which require some kind of investment to get started, such as many of the fitness apps, where you have to buy an NFT before you can earn anything. That's great if you have enough cash to spare that you can buy one with having to worry about 'what happens if the project doesn't work out?'
I'm more interested in apps that let you get started, (and get paid!) without spending ANY money.
I've talked about a few move to earn fitness apps that do this in previous posts, including this one... @thebalanceguy/how-to-get-paid-for-exercising-part-2
In this post, I'm going to focus on non exercise ways to earn Satoshis (small units of Bitcoin/BTC).
Listening to podcasts
There are a number of apps which will pay you a small amount of sats for listening to podcasts. My favourite one so far is called Fountain which rewards you in satoshi's for your first hour of listening each day.
Casual Gaming
you may have seen ads for, or even downloaded, games that promise to pay via paypal for playing a few games. If your experience was anything like mine, it was severely disappointing. You get a few seconds of gameplay, followed by a 30 second advertisement. You see your balance rising though, so you stick with it, even though the ads get more frequent and the rewards smaller as you get closer to the minimum balance needed to cash out. Hundreds of ads later, you've almost reached the minimum balance, but the rewards stop coming. Literally hours wasted on 'games' that aren't fun.
So far, I've found 5 casual games that enable you to generate small amounts of sats each day. I feel these are worth a separate post so keep an eye out for that.
To help me get a clear sense of what i'm gaining over time from reading, writing, listening, moving, and playing to earn, I'm doing an end of week report to see how i progress. I'm not really too concerned much with the dollar/euro value at this stage, because as we all know that can change a lot over the course of a year. I just want to see how my crypto ownership increases over the coming year, based on my everyday activities.
If you're interested in following my journey, you can find the results of week 1 here
To make them easier to find, I'll add them to a single collection as each weeks report is complete.
