However, just like me, there are many people out there who have no idea about the basic requirements for caring for these beautiful plants. Hola amigos! desde hace algun tiempo me habia llamado la atencion publicar sobre orquideas y claro me entere que existia una comunidad especifica para ello, mi post va destinado a todas aquellas personas que quieren adentrarse al mundo del cuidado de Orquideas! sin embargo asi como yo hay bastantes personas por alli que no tienen idea de los requerimientos basicos del cuidado de estas hermosas plantas, les voy a contar mi experiencia en un jardin tropical de orquideas y de todas las preguntas que hice antes de llevar una planta a mi casa.⛔⛰️🌷

First of all I want to thank the store for taking their valuable time and answering all my questions. Being a blogger on Hive is being an influencer. I have a great respect for nature and I think we should all create values that help preserve everything that compromises the environment. Although an orchid is a plant that will accompany us in our home, I felt that the most correct thing to do was to see it as I would see a pet, that is, study its ecology, its requirements, ask all the possible questions to be prepared and for my orchid to live with me for many months or years! And that's what I did. I prepared a list of questions that the garden worker answered one by one and I share those questions with you in the post!🌼🌷
Tengo un gran respeto por la naturaleza y para mi todos debemos crear valores que ayuden a preservan todo lo que comprometa el medio ambiente, apesar que una orquidea es una planta que nos acompanara en nuestra casa senti que lo mas correcto es verla tal y como veria una mascota, osea estudiar su ecologia, sus requerimientos, hacer todas las preguntas posibles para estar preparado y que mi orquidea viviese muchos meses o anos conmigo! y eso hice prepare una lista con preguntas que el trabajador del jardin fue respondiendo una a una y te comparto dichas preguntas en el post!🌍🌲

In my life I have only had one orchid that was given to me once and it was a very bad experience, it died after a couple of weeks, at that point I was left with a "trauma" since I thought that plants require very demanding care, that's why my first question was that! Are they difficult to care for? Are there orchids that are easier to care for for a novice in the subject? The seller's answer was: "it's easier to care for orchids than a garden", and that phrase stayed with me... The mistake is to see an Orchid as a plant that deserves constant care and that is not the case, the key rule for our orchids to live a long time is to water them once a week and not touch them much.🌷🌼🌍
En mi vida solo tuve una orquidea que me regalaron una vez y fue una experiencia muy mala, se murio pasado un par de semana, en ese punto quede con un "trauma" ya que pensaba que las plantas son de cuidados muy exigentes, por eso mi primera pregunta fue esa! son dificiles de cuidar? hay orquideas mas faciles de cuidar para un novato en el tema? la respuesta del venderor fue: "es mas facil cuidar orquideas que una horta", y me quede con esa frase en la memoria... El error es ver una Orquidea como una planta que merece cuidados constantes y no es asi, la regla clave para que nuestras orquideas vivan mucho tiempo es regarlas una vez por semana y no tocarlas mucho.🧔🏻♂️📸👨🏻🏫

En el mundo hay mas de 20 mil especies de Orquideas siendo las plantas con flor mas variadas en el planeta. Por eso es importante estudiar el origen de la orquidea antes de comprarla, por ejemplo vemos varias de America del Sur y Centro America son Orquideas que "les gusta" la claridad, y por tanto al ser de clima tropical el calor no es un problema, ahora si eres de un pais nordico necesitas una estufa, estos factores son importantes para que nuestra orquidea sobreviva.📸🌄
Many orchids are hybrids and that's why we see a beautiful mix of colors, something we wouldn't see in nature! This hybridization consists of the "mixing of different species" that couldn't occur naturally either, for example if we have an orchid from Africa for the natural process of pollination to occur it's something similar to winning the lottery, do you know why? Well because an African microclimate and environmental conditions are not the same as your city and mine, and there the fertilizers and specific substrates do the job.👨🏻🏫🌹
Muchas orquideas son hibridos y por eso vemos una mezcla hermosa de colores, cosa que no veriamos en la naturaleza! esa hibridacion consiste en la "mezcla de diferentes especies" que de forma natural tampoco podria ocurrir, por ejemplo si tenemos una orquidea de africa para que el proceso natural de polinizacion ocurra es algo similar a ganar la loteria sabes por que? pues porque un microclima de Africa y condiciones ambientales no son los mismos que tu ciudad y la mia, y alli los fertilizantes, y sustratos especificos hacen el trabajo.🧔🏻♂️💛💚

So far we know that we should water our orchid once a week, that we should not be "on top of it" "disturbing it", on the contrary let them and enjoy! We already know that there are orchids that grow in the sun and in the shade, we already know that we have to have an environment with the right temperature, neither too cold nor too hot! Personally, I have all these characteristics at home! And now what is the next step? Replant them? No... In reality, the Orchid is a plant that likes to "live" in tight spaces, it will be fine in our small glass, only when several bulbs grow could we replant, but that is another process.👨🏻🏫🌲
Hasta ahora sabemos que debemos regar nuestra orquidea una vez por semana, que no debemos estar "encima de ella" "molestandola", al contrario dejarlas y disfrutar! ya sabemos que hay orquideas de sol y sombra, ya sabemos que tenemos que tener un ambiente con temperatura adecuada, ni muy frio ni muy caliente! yo en lo personal reuno todas estas caracteristicas en casa! y ahora cual es el siguiente paso? replantarlas? no... En realidad la Orquidea es una planta que le gusta "vivir" en espacios apretados, estara bien en nuestro vaso pequeno, solo cuando crecen varios bulvos es que podriamos replantar pero eso es otro proceso.🌍👨🏻🏫

We know that flowers have a natural mechanism to attract pollinators, both using colors and aromas! But I was surprised to learn that an orchid had a vanilla aroma. I walked through the garden corridors and enjoyed each aroma that the orchid flowers gave off.🍀🌹🩷
Sabemos que las flores tiene un mecanismo natural para atraer polinizadores, tanto usando colores como aromas! pero me sorprendio saber que una orquidea tenia un aroma de vainilla, fui paseando entre los pasillos del jardin y fui disfrutando cada aroma que desprendia las flores de las orquideas.👃🏻

I had to ask that question because normally a plant that grows on top of another in nature is a parasitic living being! Curiously, orchids, despite growing on top of the ground or on other plants, ARE NOT PARASITES. They have something called "Mycorrhizae." It is the perfect symbiotic union between a fungus and a plant, symbiosis being a state where both parties benefit! How incredible, right?👨🏻🏫🌍
Tenia que hacer esa pregunta ya que normalmente una planta que crece encima de otra en la naturaleza es un ser vivo parasito! curiosamente las orquideas apesar de crecer encima de la tierra o sobre otras plantas NO SON PARASITAS, ellas tienen algo llamado "Micorrizas" es la perfecta union simbiotica entre un hongo y una planta, siendo simbiosis un estado donde ambas partes salen beneficiados! que increible no?🌷
Orchids are so easy to care for that you just use moss with threads and plant it on any surface and the orchid will grow! On wood, plastic, bark... An orchid can be planted on any surface. There were some that were simply hanging without soil, you just had to water the roots more to absorb nutrients.🌹💙💛
Las orquideas son tan facil de cuidar que solo se usa un musgo con hilos y se planta en cualquier superfice y ahi la orquidea crecera! en madera, plastico, cortiza... Cualquier superficie una orquidea puede ser plantada habian unas que simplemente estaban colgadas sin tierra, bastaba con regar mas las raices para absorber nutrientes.🌹🌷

Now that I have my book of Wild Orchids of Portugal I am preparing for many new adventures that I will share with you in the community, I want to make it clear that a wild orchid CANNOT BE TAKEN HOME it would not survive because we do not have the environmental conditions to have them in a pot, and this makes the experience even better because to photograph wild species I have to go to the countryside! I share this species: "Anacamptis pyramidalis", they are typical of southern and central Europe! Quite common in Portugal, they bloom in April, and I'm curious because before for me this was a common and ordinary flower now I know that it is an orchid.👨🏻🏫🌷
Ahora que tengo mi libro de Orquideas Silvestres de Portugal me preparo para muchas nuevas aventuras que ire compartiendo con ustedes en la comunidad, quiero dejar en claro que una orquidea silvestre NO PUEDE SER LLEVADA A CASA no sobreviviria porque no tenemos las condiciones ambientales para tenerlas en un matero, y esto hace la experiencia aun mejor porque para fotografiar especies silvestre tengo que ir al campo! comparto esta especie: "Anacamptis pyramidalis", son tipicas de europa del sur y central! bastante comun en Portugal, florecen en Abril, y me da curiosidad porque antes para mi esta era una flor comun y corriente ahora se que es una orquidea.🌍📸
