Deadposts, arise! Come up from the ground which you lay! Receive the rewards which you know you are worth! Bring your sexy zombie asses back to the blockchain for all of us to see!
Ok enough of that
If you don’t know The Deadpost Initiative was a weekly contest where people could post links to their old undervalued posts and give them a second chance.
We gave out up an average of around 20 steem a week, including that time when steem was worth $6, for almost a year. It was a really fun way to get to know people too.
Since communities have come around, I’ve been toying with ideas for a new version of the Deadpost Initiative, and now that have has emerged, it may be the perfect time.
A few days ago I pledged to give around 30% of my earnings from my old steem tokens to users with smaller upvotes/SP than myself. I wasn’t exactly sure how to do this though, so I left the details blank. The Deadpost initiative popped up in my head and the wheels started turning.
So this time, it won’t be as links in your profile. You are free to repost your old posts (that were originally posted at steem) in the community. If they are upvoted you oblivion or picked up by other curation groups, that is fine by us.
Any posts in the community I feel are left undervalued may receive a surprise gift of 5-25 hive in their wallet from yours truly.
Every week or two I’ll drop a curation post with the best posts from the Deadpost community that introduce the posts I’ve curated and also an engagement award of the week of 10-20 hive to the people who leave the best comments on deadposts.
Rules for posting
- you must put #deadpost as your first tag
- you must link to the original post in your deadpost
- Your original post must have had a payout of $2 or less (OR $5 or less with fewer than 2 organic comments)
- You must comment on at least 1 other Deadpost, and remember that for lots of GOOD comments you may get a reward later, and you’ll likely make friends :-)
- You can only post 1 Deadpost a week to be eligible for any pprize or curation.
- Other curation projects are invited to curate from the Deadpost Community
- individuals are also encouraged to give gifts to any posts that blow them away, especially from users with less support on the platform.
This project is meant to increase engagement and create a stronger community
So get to posting!
