Eva Gavilan, now @evagavilan2, is a fellow hiver from Venezuela. For ten days now she has been trying to recover her previous account after this was blocked by her accidentally revealing one of her keys on a #POSH comment. I have been contacting people on #Hive to see what could be done to help Eva recover her account, but so far all sources agree that there is nothing to be done mainly because Steem was still Eva's recovery account partner. All efforts to contact someone from Steemit have been fruitless so far.

I took the liberty of taking from Eva's blog some of the images and verses she had been uninterruptedly publishing for more than 2 years so that you can see the kind of blogger she is and how frustrating it has been for all of us to face the prospects of her account being lost for good.

If your account still has steem as your account recovery partner, you need to change that now to avoid further complications in case your privacy is compromised. You can change your recovery accont partner from your Peakd wallet (Actions--Keys and Permissions--Recovery Acct). Replace Steem with an alternative account instead, a friend's or any Hive witness's you trust.

Si su cuenta aún tiene Steem como su socio de recuperación de cuenta, debe cambiar eso ahora para evitar más complicaciones en caso de que su privacidad se vea comprometida. Eva needs your support

Eva had mora than 1,000HP and 100HBD in her wallet. All that is blocked and most likely will be lost or stolen by some bot runner. You can support Eva by delegating HP to her or sending her some Hive/HBD so that she does not start from scratch. I have already delegated 100HP. Also, follow her new account and check out her content. I'm sure you'll want to support her.

Hive needs to be safer

A call to the witnesses, developers, and tech people: There has to be some consensus to create recovery mechanisms that could help people like Eva in situations like hers. We do not know anything about cyber security; we may be asking for something impossible, but we believe that if the brains behind the blockchain have been able to create such an amazing ecosystem with such incredible features and complex processes that make traditional monetary transactions and traditional social media look obsolete already, they have to be able to come up with some additional safety/security features to protect the rightful owners of accounts from this kind of loss.
