As much as I hate to admit it, but the news is out so there's no denial. Vietnam has been hit with it's first community case after being Covid-19 free for 100 days. Everyone was going back to their normal lives and it was for a brief moment that we almost forgot that Covid-19 was here.
All this started on Thursday night when an elderly man was admitted to a hospital in Da Nang for respiratory difficulty. Though he had not travel out of Da Nang for over two months, he had indeed been to 3 healthcare facility within the county and attended a wedding. The test results came back positive on Friday and now his family members are being tested and quarantine along with everyone in the hospital. To make things worst, it's a school holiday season and many parents had planned for family holidays in Da Nang. Since the news break-out, resorts have been receiving cancellations and the social media is bursting with negative and pessimistic news.
The sight of the streets in Saigon when the first wave hit us
The organisation I work for has a resort property in Hoi An; 20 minutes from Da Nang and since we've opened up our doors in June, bookings have been coming in and we were confident that we're headed to the right direction. Yet now, with this news... it's going to be a worst downhill for tourism in Da Nang, Hoi An & Hue. How does one attack Mother Nature when it keeps coming back and hitting you harder than the first time.
Are we going back to this now with the 2nd wave hitting us?
I know I shouldn't be feeling like this - it's important to tell the truth if there is a new case; be it in any county but it's just tough when it's in our location.
Will we recover ?
That's the big question!
Another bigger question is will the city of Da Nang be under lock down.. everyone is asking.
It's Sunday... And it's time for another Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday. So, I'm trying something new this week. Something out of the box, something different, something wild, something odd and who knows where this Sunday will lead us.
#SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a while #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108. Both of whom share similar wonderful thoughts of how Sundays should be for all of us.
